All the volunteers joined efforts to feed, treat, and transport some of the cats to veterinary hospitals for medical care due to the heatwave. This is truly something to be applauded!

The Chinese don’t tolerate a woman loving a pet more than them. If an Asian "man’s" ego is hurt by an animal, terrible things can happen. My ex-boyfriend beat a cat to death. As a girl, I don’t know what to do. It happened at 3:01 a.m. on July 10. I was eating something late at night and wanted to check on the cats. When I opened the door, I was stunned. My ex-boyfriend had beaten one cat to death and left another half-crippled. I immediately collapsed and called the police. I didn’t have a key to get inside, so I called the landlord over and over again, but he didn’t answer. I could only wait until sunrise for him to open the door. I got home at 9 a.m. and brought a friend with me to record the video! Then I went to the police station to make a statement! My rental apartment has all the evidence, including videos of my ex-boyfriend witnessing the cat being beaten. Key point: The landlord gave my ex-boyfriend the keys without my consent and didn’t even message me on WeChat. It’s been almost two weeks, and calling the police has done nothing! I filed a report, but Officer Hat just kept saying, “Coordinate, coordinate, coordinate.” He told me this is a civil dispute and that I can only file a lawsuit. The only thing Officer Hat will do is “coordinate”! It seems like Officer Hat doesn’t want to deal with this; it makes me so angry! Also, (my ex-boyfriend still refuses to compensate me) I still have chat recordings of him threatening me!
