My art comes from a deeply personal place; A time I want to rediscover. A relationship I wish to reconcile. A question I dare to ask. This short film embodies all of this, but at its core it is an abstract reflection of living with depression. The isolation. The numbness. The longing to return to the same plane as your loved ones. The box you contort yourself into that holds all your pain, yet feels safer to stay in rather than stepping into the unknown towards healing. I share the screen with my real mother in this film. She had never acted before but radiates with wisdom and grace.
