Someone should do a PhD thesis on how K-Pop is weaponized misandry. Angry and confrontational facial expressions and choreography (stomping, sneering, etc.), lyrical themes of domination, dismissal of men, and emotional detachment. Stylized aggression of the 'girlboss' aesthetic. K-Pop at its root is theatricalized hostility, often aimed at a symbolic male other—ex-boyfriends, patriarchs, which in repetition, begins to resemble ritualized misandry for catharsis or commercial consumption. Furthermore, it's a market-friendly inversion of male gaze tropes, where now men are the disposable object. Insanely controlling female "fandoms" hyper-control their male idols' sexuality, infantilize them, or feminize them. I believe K-Pop is becoming a ritualized combat display: like war dances in tribal societies (e.g., haka). These performances are directed not toward a literal enemy, but symbolically toward men, patriarchal control, romantic betrayal, or social subjugation.
