Or this time in the Maldives when I showed my passport at customs and they were 🤏🏽 close to stripping me naked to look for what I don’t know. All the while, people are passing by and looking at you up and down wondering what drugs you must have been caught with.

I went on the 10-minute shuttle with my new friend, Adah, and we talked about this bizarre situation all the way till we got to the high-tech futuristic design Gate T which supposedly had machines with superpowers designed to scan only African passports. Behold the building…

Every time I told my friends I was going to the Maldives 🇲🇻 after my solo trip to India 🇮🇳, the first question they asked was “Who goes to the Maldives alone?” and here’s what I think…

✈️ 1 year of catching flights, in 1 minute - 2025 edition✨

Apparently, in Brussels Airport Brussels Airlines, all flights going to any airport or country in Africa fly out from a whole different “special” terminal building than flights going to the rest of the world. You have to take a 10-minute shuttle to get to this building.

I saw one of the officials and politely asked him why Africans and flights to the continent were singled out to leave from a different building, and this was his response. Mind you, I wasn’t coming from the U.S. like he assumed. Adah was though. Still, it made no sense.

If you travel a lot, you’ve probably made this mistake and it has cost you thousands of $$ without you even realizing. Let’s make sure it doesn’t happen again 🫶🏽💸

It’s illegal to earn money while you’re a tourist, so I may have just committed a crime in Estonia 🇪🇪🤭 Anyway, off to buy a Chanel bag to get rid of the evidence 🛍️
