DeepSeek should not be dismissed but is NOT a Chinese break thru on AI cost which caused Monday’s panic. The reports they spent $6 M vs. billions for OpenAI, Anthropic & xAI are fake news. Apples for Apples is $6 M vs $15 M. And given they did nearly a year later, should be at least 50% less costly.
