But these projects are not just engineering feats; more importantly, they are about the people. The Tianshan Victory Tunnel, the world’s longest expressway tunnel, which opened in December 2025, is a case in point. “It’s not as if drilling through the mountains was easy; but we did it because there are people on the other side of the mountains.” Today, the travel time has been cut from four hours to just 20 minutes. Here lies the true value of our infrastructure.
