Ropers ruined county fair for me as a kid. One year I had a lamb, but all I wanted to do was ride horses, so I barely worked with it. It was a fight, but I got it to fair. Then some roper paid a ridiculous amount for it because he wanted my dad to get him Mexican roping steers. Dad made me donate the money back to 4-H and said I was only allowed to show horses from then on. I still hold a grudge against ropers. 🤦♀️
