Mayor for the City of Edmonton. Let’s build a stronger Edmonton, together
Videos

"I didn’t see a snow plow during my drive, are City crews working?" That’s a question I occasionally get asked and the answer is yes. Instead of driving around to try and find our City crews, you can see them using the City of Edmonton’s online map. They are working 24/7 every single day. Yes, they were even busy working on Christmas Day. Learn more in the video. #yeg #yegcc

This election, you have a choice between two visions to meet the challenges our city is facing. On one hand you have Tim Cartmell. He has promised tax cuts, but only for businesses. There’s only two options to pay for those tax cuts: higher residential taxes, or cuts to services you count on. Tim also says he’ll stand up to Danielle Smith, but I have my doubts that he’ll be able to make a difference. After all, he was hand-picked by the Smith government to sit on a public safety task force that hasn’t made anyone feel any safer. My vision is different. ✅ Proven, evidence-based solutions to increase public safety. ✅ Redirecting funding to solve problems, like homelessness, not just manage them. ✅ Steadying our city’s finances while protecting and improving your services. I won’t sit back and wait for the province to step up. I’ll take action. On October 20th, vote for the work. Not platitudes. Not special interests and deep pockets. Vote for the vision of a stronger Edmonton. #yeg #yegvote

There’s no question — people are struggling. Poverty and homelessness affect us all, and Edmontonians are rightfully frustrated with the cost of provincial inaction. We need every level of government at the table. But let’s be clear: jurisdiction can’t be an excuse when lives are at stake. People are not political footballs. There are proven, cost-effective, evidence-based solutions that save both money and lives — and we can’t wait another moment to act. As your mayor, I’ll bring together governments, non-profits, Indigenous leaders and knowledge keepers, faith communities, and citizens from across our city to do what Edmonton does best — work together to build a city where everyone can thrive. This election is a choice between moving forward and building a city that is safer and more accessible for families, seniors, small businesses, and workers. Join me to build a stronger Edmonton that puts the needs of Edmontonians first — not special interest groups, political parties, big donors, or backroom deals. As Edmonton grows, I will make sure our city works for everyone. That means better services, safer communities, and economic growth that benefits everyone.

Yesterday, council unanimously approved my motion to improve and expand access to emergency day shelters and dedicated day shelter spaces for the winter of 2025–2026. What does this mean? It means that people experiencing homelessness will now have more places to go during the day to receive support and care. It means that more Edmontonians will enjoy safer communities. It means less pressure on workers in our libraries and public spaces. And it means that we’re building a stronger Edmonton, together, by supporting those who need it the most.

Edmonton. Today is the day you cast your vote in the most important election we’ve had in recent memory. I love this city. But we can all agree: Edmonton is at a turning point. We’re growing — and with that growth come serious challenges: affordability, safety, and homelessness. How we meet those challenges will be decided by the choices you make today. I’m asking you to choose a stronger Edmonton — one where we build forward instead of cutting backward. To protect and improve the services that make life more affordable. To build a city that’s safer for everyone. Vote for me, Andrew Knack, and vote for a stronger Edmonton. #yeg #yegvote

Edmonton doesn’t feel as safe as it used to. People worry about their kids taking transit to school or about walking home after dark. Addressing safety takes both prevention and enforcement. We need more social supports — and those supports should come from social workers, not police, not library staff, and not business owners. As your mayor, I will: ▪️Commit to the Edmonton Police funding formula to provide them with budget stability. ▪️Work to expand programs like REACH Crisis Diversion ▪️Advocate for more Indigenous Courts ▪️Support Indigenous-led programming ▪️Support AI-enabled traffic safety technologies ▪️Bring together all orders of government to find coordinated, thoughtful solutions and partnerships. On October 20th, vote for me, Andrew Knack, and together, we’ll build a stronger, safer Edmonton. Learn more about my plan for safety here: #yeg #yegvote

Edmontonians - we all feel the weight of rising costs. Yesterday, the province released a mandate letter that included exploring and recommending ways to limit municipal tax increases. If the province truly wants to support Edmontonians and reduce municipal taxes, one clear way would be to restore the funding that has been cut. Since 2011, infrastructure funding has decreased by nearly 60% — leaving cities to pick up the bill while more responsibilities are downloaded onto us. As Mayor, I will always work collaboratively with the province, but never at the cost of a bad deal for Edmonton. #yeg #yegcc #yegvote

Here’s 60 seconds on why political parties don’t belong in municipal politics. The province’s own survey shows that over 70% of Albertans don’t want this. Thanks to Cross Border Network for the opportunity to discuss this important issue. #abpoli #ableg #yegcc #yyccc #yeg #yyc
