This is what I like to call “zenned-out”. He gets a feel for the ball in his hands first. Then closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. Last comes the arm shake, just to get one last sense of his body moving through that shooting arm. UConn never led again. 8/11 in the Elite Eight, 4/4 in the Final Four, and 2/2 in the title game.

love this homerun play call by Gard. You can't just "not lose" against a team like Michigan. You gotta go out there and WIN for 40 minutes. He knew he had a guy in Carrington that could go up there and get any 50/50 ball and he trusted it. Now, missing the front end of the 1/1 isn't discussed in the huddle😂
