When I say the interview with Vlad was completely impromptu and off the cuff, it was. 007 stealth mission, right place & right time. For context, Vlad said no to every media company except for CNBC and maybe one other for interviews, no matter how big or how prominent. We tried talking to the comms guys before, but it was not going to happen for us. Here's how we made it happen... I walked up to Vlad after he was speaking to the NASCAR driver whose car was on the floor at the summit, and I had my producer with me and I saw him take a selfie with another attendee, and so I knew it was my opportunity to get the interview in. I walked up to Vlad, and I go, "Hey Vlad, can I have a picture as you hear in the video below?" The first thing he says back is, "Oh, hey, you're Andy, right from The Rollup?" I just laughed a little bit, and I think said something like, "Man, I really appreciate y'all being here, and you guys are crushing it." That's when I was like, "Hey Vlad, can I ask you some questions real quick?" and he was like, "Sure man" and then we got straight into it with the first question about tokenization. Honestly a hilarious moment. I just wanted to get some words from Vlad about Robinhood, chain, and tokenization because we didn't hear much about digital assets and DeFi in the keynote or at all during the summit. From what we've heard from sources, they are ready to announce the tokenization exemption just days after the CLARITY act vote on Sept 15th.
