In the passing of Ratan Tata, we have not only lost the jewel in the crown of Indian industry but also a man whose vision and outstanding personal qualities made him an icon for every Indian. My deepest condolences to #RatanTata’s family and everyone in the wider Tata Parivar. He significantly influenced me in my life. His example inspired me that creating value is not for one self but for the larger purpose of our nation's progress. One project close to my heart, the BALCO Cancer Hospital in Raipur, would not have happened without his support and the help of Tata Memorial Hospital. It was he, more than I, who was convinced that the hospital was being set up in the right place where states like Chhatisgarh, MP, Odisha and Bengal would benefit a lot. Mr. Tata was a father figure and mentor for an ordinary man like me. I recall him affirming to me that Vedanta's aluminium and oil and gas businesses were solid businesses that I should pursue - and his words always encouraged me. What an amazing man - I felt his humility - he never denied giving time to someone as ordinary as me. I have with me, on my phone, a very precious possession. It is a video of Mr. Tata saying some very kind words about my journey. Whenever I am faced with doubt or a challenge, I listen to his words. And they motivate me to work even harder with passion and compassion. And to become for today's young entrepreneurs what he was for me. His legacy will live on. Om Shanti. 🙏

एक सच यह भी है कि इस दुनिया में जब भी किसी ने कोई नई बात कही, कोई बड़ा सपना देखा, किसी आविष्कार के बारे में सोचा, तो लोगों ने हमेशा पहले उस पर अविश्वास किया। Vedanta Group की इस नई ad film में भी बिल्कुल यही कहानी है। एक बच्चा जिसे उसके दोस्त फ़ेंकू समझते हैं, क्योंकि उसकी बातें उन्हें science fiction जैसी लगती हैं। पर हकीकत में उसका परिवार देश की तरक्की की बुनियाद रख रहा है। क्योंकि आसमान में उड़ने वाले बड़े satellite हों या हमारे घरों में इस्तेमाल होने वाले छोटे devices, इन सबके निर्माण की शुरुआत ज़मीन के नीचे दबे उन्हीं Minerals और Oil & gas से होती है जिन्हें हम निकालते हैं। मुझे यह बताते हुए बेहद खुशी हो रही है कि हमारी यह ad film अब Dhurandhar The Revenge फिल्म के साथ हज़ार से ऊपर सिनेमाघरों में दिखाई जा रही है, आप भी ज़रूर देखिए। और अगली बार अगर कोई आपके सपनों पर विश्वास ना करे, तो इस ad film को याद कर लेना और बस मुस्कुराकर अपने लक्ष्य की तरफ बढ़ते जाना। क्योंकि अगर खुद पर यकीन हो तो एक दिन बड़े से बड़ा सपना भी सच हो सकता है।
