💔 Toby’s world didn’t just change… it shattered. We met Toby (#V28985) when he was just a puppy. He grew up in a home, doing his best to navigate painful skin allergies with the people he loved. But when his care became too much, he was returned to us at 8 years old. Then, a miracle - he found a foster through our Pet Sponsorship Program. For years, he knew comfort again. A soft place to land. Someone who understood him. Someone who loved him. And then… in an instant, it was gone. A sudden medical emergency took that person away from him, and at 12 years old, Toby is back in a kennel. Alone. Confused. Heartbroken. He doesn’t understand the noise, the stress, the constant coming and going. He’s a gentle, sensitive soul who should be spending his golden years curled up beside someone he trusts… not waiting behind kennel doors. Toby’s medical care is fully covered. What he needs now is something we can’t provide in a shelter... peace, stability, and love. A quiet home. A patient heart. Someone willing to let him feel safe again. He already lost the home he thought was forever. Please don’t let this be how his story ends. RESCUE ALERT! Our incredible team just returned from a rescue mission saving more than 50 dogs and puppies from commercial breeding facilities throughout the Midwest in collaboration with our partner National Mill Dog Rescue. These beautiful animals arrived on our Mobile Rescue Unit today at our Port Washington, NY, campus. They’ll receive some extra TLC, including examinations by our Veterinary team and a visit to our grooming department. Once cleared and pampered they will be looking for their forever homes. When we needed a little extra space to promote some beautiful puppies for our annual Global Pet Adoptathon we knew just what to do..put them in our Mobile Rescue Unit! Adopters were able to tour our state-of-the-art vehicle AND find their new best friends! RESCUE ALERT! More than 50 pure and mixed breed dogs and puppies rescued from commercial breeding facilities in the Midwest in collaboration with our long-time partner, National Mill Dog Rescue just arrived on campus aboard our Mobile Adoption Unit. They will be examined by our veterinary team, assessed by our Pet Behavior staff, groomed as necessary and given time to decompress and acclimate to a new setting where they receive the care, attention, and any medical procedures they require – including spay and neuter.
