On Saturday we took peaceful action at the Grand National, to save lives and bring about a kinder world. In response we were brutalised by police and private security, we've experienced broken bones, dog bites and pepperspray. Is this what democracy looks like? However aggressive the police may become, we will remain non violent and undeterred because this is the right thing to do, and the best way to bring about societal change. 🐖 Luna’s story isn’t just the tale of one mother pig, it’s the lives of millions of animals in factory farms across the country. Another one of those mother pigs is Renee. Renee hadn’t moved in 72 hours, hurting and in pain; she had given birth to nine piglets, two of whom were stillborn. This is what the end point for a mother pig in factory farming looks like.

What comes next is a world-first hidden camera investigation tracking her entire time in a farrowing crate. We see her become a mother and try to care for her children, even as they are taken from her for teeth-pulling, tail clipping, and injections. But we also see how she fights for her children, just like any parent would.

The panicked actions of these horses just before today's main race can bust the racing industry's myths better than we can: "They're just a bit excited." No. They're anxious and don't want to race. "They love to race." No. They love to run. Those are two different things. And in this case, many are running out of fear. Horses run naturally from fear of being left behind by the pack and attacked as prey. "They're trained for this." Really? Then why do they need to be controlled by excruciating metal mouth bits? These “equine athletes” did not get a choice in this matter, they never signed up for this or were informed of the risks. If instances like these, the bravery of Running Lion yesterday and White Birch today aren’t examples of individuals showing that they don’t want to do this, then what is? When will we listen to the horses when they tell us "NO"? We were not the only ones protesting today. These animals will continue to resist, and for as long as they do, we will stand up for all life. !! BREAKING !! 25 supporters of Animal Rising have made it onto the track at the Scottish Grand National, to put their bodies in the way of harm, and protect animals. They're attempting to attach themselves to jumps and gates in order to cancel the big race. This afternoon 8 year old Oscar Elite died on the very same track. We take action today with them in our hearts. A horse dies every other day in racing in the UK. We are here to protect horses by saying NO to this barbaric 'sport.' There are plenty of other things we can have fun doing on a Saturday afternoon that don't involve watching animals come to harm. Last week at Aintree was just the beginning. Today hundreds of incredibly brave animal lovers took direct action in the name of Animal Rising to protect the horses at Aintree. Supporters managed to get onto the track and delay proceedings, making headlines around the world. Subsequently, people all over the UK are having conversations RIGHT NOW about animal rights and our relationship with animals and nature. Our aim was always to start this conversation and we are glad that it is finally happening. Today's action was just the beginning. 🚨BREAKING! Three supporters of Animal Rising were arrested in house raids the afternoon before the Greyhound Derby final. 🚨 The police have reached new levels of absurdity, including taking a seven-year-old’s tablet along with the entire family’s tech in a house raid. This is the same police force that shot and killed two innocent dogs at the beginning of May. This comes before supporters of Animal Rising even got within distance of Towcester Racecourse. Those arrested by the police were peaceful supporters who were trying to protect dogs. The increase in the suppression of dissent and peaceful protest is a threat to our democracy, and every day we see our democracy withering more and more. Despite these challenges, we will proceed with our intentions to disrupt the Greyhound Derby final tomorrow. The police have tried to stop us from protecting these greyhounds, but we will continue to put our bodies on the line to protect animals, and advocate for a better future FOR ALL LIFE. 🐎 Michelle and Alistair are on trial because they ran onto the Grand National racetrack to try to save horses’ lives. They are accused of public nuisance for trying to stop the race - but a horse is killed on average every other day on British racetracks. It’s time for this cruelty to end.

‼️⚠️BREAKING!!!⚠️‼️ Scottish supporters of Animal Rising gain access to the stage at the Royal Highland Show where the Golden Sheep Shearing World Championship is taking place! 3 individuals glued themselves to the gates behind which the sheep were kept, whilst others held posters detailing facts about the farming industry. In this competition, sheep are used for entertainment and sheered in under 60 seconds, causing stress and often injury. In the UK we have only 12% forest cover, while sheep grazing accounts for 16% of land use. Switching to a plant-based food system would allow us to free up vast amounts of land for rewilding and protection against the climate crisis. We need to drastically change our relationship with animals and the natural world and create a safe place for all life. Please join us in standing up for nature. The Jockey Club spent £150,000 trying to silence this conversation, and they failed. Despite house raids, injunctions, facial recognition, someone still got on the track. And now everyone's talking about the ethics of horseracing and our broken relationship with animals.

'How can it be possible to justify a race which is purely for the pleasure of people, which risks the life of even one animal?' ‼️URGENT: SIGN PETITION TO SEND THE ESCAPED MILITARY HORSES TO A SANCTUARY‼️ Petition: We all are shocked by the images of the blood-covered horses, that were running through London today morning. This horrifying image is a clear display of how we treat animals in today's society. Animals in distress have been escaping from slaughterhouses, farms and this time from a military rehearsal. We have to do better. These horses have served their country through no choice of their own. Now, it is time for us to serve them. ‼️We are urgently calling for those horses to be sent to a sanctuary where they can live out the rest of their lives in peace‼️
