Late night update from Olympia: We’re still here! The House is in a late night session. The Senate is out for the weekend without taking up the income tax. That’s likely to come next week. Two bad bills just got voted off the House floor. One to raid the LEOFF pensions for the climate commitment act account and another to protect immigrant workers from federal I-9 audits. Bad decisions are being made in the dead of night here in Olympia. As the Washington Post puts it: “Democracy Dies in Darkness”. #waleg

Update from Olympia with Dakota Manley. We CRUSHED property tax increases! 43,153 of you taxpayers signed in CON, while a measly 2,165 signed in pro. RECORD BREAKING! It even hurt Sen. Jamie Pedersen’s ears so much that he left the room. Our team of Washington State Young Republicans, including Corey Sherwood, showed up with solid arguments in opposition to property tax increases, plus the wealth tax and payroll tax. WA Senate Democrats must not pass these taxes. The people spoke. LET’S GET TO WORK! 💪🏻
