Really bad sight for the Kings. Second-year center Maxime Raynaud just had to be led off in a wheelchair after appearing to injure his right knee setting a screen. In some serious pain. Sacramento GM Scott Perry follows him to the locker room.

Steph Curry warming up in some Nikes tonight in San Antonio

Jimmy Butler can’t put weight on his right knee. Buddy Hield and Jonathan Kuminga helping him to the locker room after a concerning scene in Chase Center.

Anthony Edwards on the confrontation: “Competition at the highest level. We want to win. Finchy want to win. Tony Brothers is Tony Brothers. We all love him.”

Anthony Edwards appeared to take a knee-to-knee shot on that Cam Johnson drive to his left knee. Needed help to get to the locker room.

This Sacramento crowd is already full and lit up more than 20 minutes before tip. Here they are welcoming the Kings out of the tunnel.

Jimmy Butler: “I hate to give Buddy a compliment, so I’m not going to. But #7 on our team really brought the defensive mentality tonight and made some open shots.”

Nikola Jokic on Nuggets coach David Adelman: “It’s not his fault we couldn’t rebound. It’s not his fault we couldn’t catch the ball very well. There is nothing to blame David Adelman. It’s all us.”

Kristaps Porzingis said he’s “back at it” tomorrow vs Celtics. Team listing him as questionable so he didn’t want to say for certain, but it’s clear he plans to make his Warriors debut. “Feeling good. Ready to go.”

Jonathan Kuminga told me the aspect of the no-call that set him off (and led to his first career ejection) was the trip/clip of his right ankle from behind. Same ankle he badly injured last season. Gave him a concerning flashback. Was hurting a bit postgame but said he's fine.

Jimmy Butler when asked if he’s playing in Miami tomorrow night: “Who knows? We’ll see how we feel when we wake up.” On his fourth quarter jostling with Jalen Suggs: “Y’all done?”

An animated Steve Kerr on the sidelines tonight. Warriors left Keyonte George (15 first quarter points) wide open on the weak side. Kerr (top right of screen) was already walking onto court to call timeout before it went in and started ripping into his players.

Two factors of note on defensive stop to send it to OT. Jimmy Butler nudges Kuminga out to stick on Aaron Gordon. Then Kuminga flies in to tap away possible Jokic putback. Kuminga earning closing responsibilities in jumbo lineup tonight.

Klay Thompson arrives at Chase Center to a line of 400 employees in captain hats

Jonathan Kuminga exited the game in San Antonio after this fall

Andre Iguodala arrives to his Warriors jersey retirement. Ceremony postgame. They are unveiling a medallion outside arena right now. Here’s Iguodala greeting Rick Barry and Mo Speights on his way to podium.

Jimmy Butler on his knee rehab: “My (testing) numbers are staggering, they’re off the charts. I’m ahead, so they say.”

Yaxel Lendeborg on his early conversations with Steve Kerr: “He doesn’t normally play rookies as much. He has a history of that. But the way the team is looking right now, I’m going to have a really good chance to play, maybe even start.”

Darius Acuff on his interaction with Draymond Green the other night: "He was telling me read the game a little more...He's playing against, but he's also watching the game, trying to teach me. I was listening...I agreed with him."

Nikola Jokic: “We just lost in the first round. I think we are far away.” Changes needed? “That’s not my decision. Definitely, if we were in Serbia, we would all be fired.”

Jaden McDaniels on Victor Wembanyama: “He’s eight feet tall. He contests everything. He’s just good at his job.” “When I see myself on film next to him, he look tall as hell.”

Nuggets coach David Adelman on Jaden McDaniels calling the Nuggets defenders out by name “I can’t wait for his podcast.” “It’ll help his social media.” “What’s our defensive rating in this series?” 109 “How is that?” Sixth best in the playoffs “Ok. Next.”

Jimmy Butler on new Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg: “I know that guy be speaking his mind. I like that.” “He plays tough. He is tough. I bet he plays dominos, too. I’m gonna have to crack his head in that.” Full soundbite

Yaxel Lendeborg on the slip cut in a scrimmage off Steph’s gravity: “I’ve never come off a screen and seen nobody in front or behind me.” He also said he blocked a Steph 3: “They said it was a fouls. I told my friends it was a block.

Steve Kerr mentioned an early third quarter Yaxel Lendeborg mistake where he tried to fit in a pass instead of attempting a layup, leading to turnover and transition 3. “We need him to have an aggressive scoring mentality and that’s something we are going to work with him on.”

Mike Dunleavy on the Jonathan Kuminga trade demand: “I’m aware of that. In terms of demands, when you make a demand there needs to be demand.”

Luka Doncic, looking lighter, scored an easy 21 points in 16 first half preseason minutes in Sacramento tonight. JJ Redick: "The guy worked his butt off all summer and actually ran this summer. He actually did like sprints and stuff. Came into camp in fantastic shape."

The Warriors will start Steph Curry, Brandin Podziemski, Yaxel Lendeborg, Draymond Green and Al Horford in the preseason opener on Sunday against the Clippers. Here is Steve Kerr on what he likes about that five-man group

Draymond Green mentioned a recent Yaxel Lendeborg play from a scrimmage where Steph Curry back-picked him for a dunk. Said Curry told him “that’s going to happen a lot.” Extended Draymond soundbite on his excitement for Yaxel “Michigan guys usually aren’t (this) good.”

Steph Curry: “All the different salary cap conditions of whether I sign for max or less or whatever it is, I want to be on a competitive team.” Full NBA Today segment on Curry and the Warriors’ theoretical flexibility

Steve Kerr called the arena atmosphere in Minneapolis today one of the most “bizarre, sad” vibes he’s experienced at a game Warriors blew out the Timberwolves. “Honestly what I felt was that their group was suffering.”

Anthony Edwards on Steph Curry: “That’s my boy. Love Steph.” “To me, greatest point guard.” “He actually don’t know a lot of rap music. That’s the best thing I learned about him.”

Here’s the friendly postgame scene between the Nuggets and Timberwolves beginning with Jokic and McDaniels

Additional note to this Warriors-Lakers injury report ahead of tonight’s game: Kristaps Porzingis’ health absence and timetable remains indefinite as the Warriors open their second week of preseason, I’m told

Jimmy Butler gives an update on his ACL rehab. Said he believes he is a month and a half from running. Believes he’s able to dunk jumping off his left foot but isn’t supposed to land on right foot. “We’ve been making some incredible progress.”
