CANADA PRODUCES THE OIL. WHY ARE WE THIS EXPOSED? 🇨🇦 Hundreds of B.C. dump-truck drivers convoyed Friday as Vancouver diesel hit roughly $2.84/L. Here’s the part Canadians should know: Canada produced a record 5.35 MILLION barrels of crude oil per day in 2025. But our 16 refineries can process only about 1.9 million barrels/day and in 2025 Canada still imported 485,000 barrels/day of refined petroleum products, nearly 80% from the United States. Think about how ridiculous that is. We are one of the great energy-producing nations on Earth. We have the oil. We have enormous natural-gas resources. We have access to both the Atlantic and Pacific. Yet when global diesel supplies tighten, Canadian truckers get hammered. More Canadian refining, pipelines, export capacity and LNG would not magically disconnect us from global energy prices. But it would give Canada more domestic supply, more options and greater energy security instead of leaving ourselves unnecessarily exposed. The world needs energy. Canada should be producing it, refining more of it, exporting it — and building the infrastructure to do all three. #Canada #Energy #OilAndGas #Diesel #Trucking #CanadianEnergy
