In its early days, Doordarshan had a unique way of introducing its shows: through title songs deeply rooted in the rich traditions of Indian classical music. One such iconic title song was featured in the historical drama "Bharat Ek Khoj", which incorporated a Hindi translation of the ancient Vedic hymn, the Nāsadīya Sūkta.. Then even non-existence was not there, nor was existence, There was no air then, nor was there space beyond it. What covered it? Where was it? In whose keeping? Was there then cosmic fluid, in depths unfathomed? (translated by AL Basham, 1954)
