Addressing journalists, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted the exceptional significance of the referendum for the country’s future. “I congratulate all of you, because today is truly a historic day for our country. The Constitution is a fundamental document that #guarantees the #rights and #freedoms of our citizens, which is why it holds special importance. The new Constitution reaffirms the territorial #integrity, #independence and #sovereignty of our state. The Constitution adopted in 1995 fulfilled its role. Our country lived under this document for 35 years, but time does not stand still. The moment has come to adopt a new Basic Law. I was also actively involved in its preparation, personally proposing the text of the Constitution’s preamble and a number of other provisions. I am confident that the new Basic Law will serve the interests of our country and its future”, – the President said.

President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev has signed a law granting #Turkistan a special status, strengthening its role as a spiritual and cultural center. This law safeguards the historical heritage of the Khodja Ahmed Yassawi Mausoleum, ensuring its preservation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explaining the move, the President said: “Turkistan is a cradle of the Kazakh nation, while Khodja Ahmed Yassawi mausoleum is one of its sacred legacies.
