This house in Valencia, Spain, is only 42 inches (107 cm) wide — and a family actually lived here. Known as La Estrecha, the narrow building had its rooms stacked vertically, connected by a spiral staircase. At one point, the family ran a jewelry shop on the ground floor and lived above it. In the 1980s, the interior was merged with the neighboring building, so today the 107-cm-wide façade survives, but it is no longer an independent house.
