In the Splatoon 2 development build, all of the Off the Hook tracks did not have their vocals recorded yet, so they used placeholder synths. For Pearl, it appears they already had the "lyrics" planned out Color Pulse:

There's also this early version of the Salmon Run shift intro that is much longer than the final one. It's more distorted and has this really ominous bass line in the end. It's vaguely similar to the music before a King Salmonid wave

Fun thing I noticed with the Mii Maker music from the new game: It's inspired by the theme from the Check Mii Out Channel! I love the music from the new Tomodachi in general, it captures the nostalgic feeling of these older sounding synths so well
