While a downed Su-57 — shot down by Russia’s own air defence — is still burning, and the Subkhankulovo pipeline station is on fire, it’s worth explaining what those spectacular warehouse videos actually mean. Ukrainian serviceman and military analyst Serhii Misiura breaks down why Wildberries is a legitimate strategic target. Here is the scale. Wildberries turns over 4.1 trillion rubles a year — more than 2% of Russia’s entire GDP. Every 50th ruble in the Russian economy passes through one private platform. To put it in Ukrainian terms: imagine Rozetka, Prom, Nova Poshta, Monobank and all of Ukraine’s outdoor advertising combined into one company. It would still be smaller than Wildberries. — 3,000,000 m² of warehouse space — 45,000+ pickup points (Nova Poshta has 16,000 branches) — 20 million orders per day — over 7 billion items a year — 70 million active buyers per month — Net profit over 100 billion rubles The workforce behind it: — 150,000–200,000 warehouse and logistics staff — 150,000+ working at pickup points — 1,000,000+ registered sellers, employing another 2–3 million people Over 3 million people in Russia depend on this system. Now the part that makes it a military target. Wildberries doubled from 844 billion to 1.67 trillion rubles between 2021 and 2022. Then doubled again to over 4 trillion by 2024–25. Since the full-scale invasion began, the business has grown roughly five times. Western brands leaving. Sanctions. Parallel imports. “War money” — payments for the dead and wounded — flooding poor and remote Russian regions. Mass sales of dual-use goods to the front. Wildberries became the war’s single biggest beneficiary — and its key logistics and supply artery. Misiura’s conclusion: “Destroying their mega-warehouses today isn’t just a fire at a private company’s depot. It is directly burning out the economic and logistical doping that holds up the enemy’s rear.” Russia spends about 12% of GDP on this war. Wildberries is 2% of GDP on its own. 🔥One drone. A few thousand dollars. A $50 million Russian air defence system destroyed. Pilots of the "Feniks" border unit caught a Russian Buk-M3 on the move in Donetsk region — and killed it with a single drone. The Buk-M3 is one of Russia's most advanced medium-range air defence systems. It was not dug in, not camouflaged, not protected. It was rolling toward the front line in the open, because Russia did not expect anyone to reach it there. "The new economics of war, in a very simple example: pilots of the 'Feniks' border unit, with one drone costing a few thousand dollars, inflicted losses of around $50 million on the enemy. The occupiers did not expect such a 'hot' reception, so they moved equipment closer to the front without hiding. Thanks to the timely work of the border guards, this Buk definitely no longer poses a threat." Run the ratio: roughly 10,000 to 1. That is the arithmetic reshaping this war. Russia builds expensive, complex systems designed for a battlefield where the threat comes from aircraft and missiles. Ukraine sends something that costs less than a used car and takes the whole thing off the board. Russia called Khalino airbase impregnable. Ukraine just proved otherwise — and Russia's air defence spent the night "precisely" hitting its own apartment buildings. Ukraine's "Kursk" troop grouping conducted a massive strike on the Khalino military airbase — 7 kilometres east of Kursk city, described until now as one of the Kremlin's most heavily fortified fortresses. What Ukrainian middle-strike drones destroyed: 🔥 The main control building of a satellite communications centre 🔥 Shahed and Geran launch sites 🔥 Air defence systems 🔥 A fuel and lubricants depot 🔥 Other military targets Russia threw everything it had at the incoming drones — Pantsir and Tor air defence systems, MiG fighters, even Su-35s. The result of all that firepower? Russia's air defence delivered "precision strikes" on residential buildings and other civilian sites in Kursk itself. The occupier's own missiles, fired at Ukrainian drones, came down on Russian apartment blocks. The "Kursk" grouping's assessment: "Khalino military airbase — the pride of the Kremlin and its master — was until now a super-fortified fortress, considered impossible to unlock. But the UAS specialists of the 'Kursk' grouping, under the 8th Air Assault Corps, proved: for them, nothing is impossible." This is the same airbase where the 15th "Chornyi Lis" Brigade destroyed a MiG-29 and a Pantsir-S1 the day before. Two days. One "impregnable" airbase. Multiple targets destroyed. The 425th Separate Assault Regiment Skelia has advanced deep into occupied Dnipropetrovsk region — simultaneously on eastern and southern axes — in one of the most significant Ukrainian offensive operations of the summer. Liberated: Ternove, Zaporizke, Novoheorhiivka, Vorone, Sichnevе, Maliivka. How it happened: Dozens of assault groups launched simultaneously from the Velykomykhailivka area. Continuous air support around the clock. Systematic destruction of enemy positions along all axes of advance. Targeted elimination of Russian drone operators throughout the operation. Russia's 120th Marine Division — the defending force — took critical losses. A key logistics hub at Temyrivka village — through which a major Russian supply route runs — was struck and brought under Ukrainian fire control. Russia's 656th Motorised Rifle Regiment's personnel concentration point there was destroyed. Ukraine has extended its drone strike range deeper into occupied territory and taken fire control over Russian logistics routes in the sector. You can scroll past this video in three seconds. The people of Kostiantynivka couldn’t. White phosphorus falling across a residential neighbourhood in Kostiantynivka. Dozens of burning elements. Each one ignites on contact with air and cannot be extinguished with water. These are apartment blocks and streets of a city that had nothing to do with any military objective. Russia does not distinguish between civilian and military targets. It never has. On its path, it destroys everything — buildings, infrastructure, people. Russian logic is simple: if it exists in territory Russia wants, it becomes a target. Kostiantynivka is in eastern Ukraine. But the pattern is consistent across every city Russia has reached — Mariupol, Kherson, Bucha. The weapon changes. The outcome doesn’t. No safe rear: Ukraine burns Russian long-range MLRS in Crimea Ukrainian drone units struck deep inside occupied Crimea, destroying three BM-30 Smerch / Tornado-S MLRS, along with a reload vehicle and fuel assets. These are not frontline systems. They are long-range strike platforms — typically positioned far from combat and heavily protected. They were hit anyway. Despite camouflage and distance, the strike was precise, coordinated, and successful. Why this matters This is a hit, that directly degrades Russia’s ability to: — conduct deep fire missions — sustain artillery pressure — plan coordinated strikes Replacing such systems is slow, complex, and resource-intensive — especially under sanctions.
