Here my boy Austin is using a small wood bat that literally weighs like 15 oz. If the ball isn’t struck well it’s a ground ball… really forces the hitters to use their wrist, accelerate the barrel through the ball with your hands to get the ball to jump! It’s called hand - eye coordination guys, use your hands to hit the ball … join my channel on Ig where I’ll be going into more in depth things as I’m building out my community let’s get them boys working!!! 🙏🏽

Colt, like most hitters, cups his wrist and overuses his shoulders in the swing—and it kills consistency. Here’s what you guys don’t get: even the way you grip the bat is affecting everything you do. Barrel path, bat speed, contact… all of it. Every detail matters. But most of you won’t fix it—not because you can’t, but because you don’t train enough. You don’t get your reps in. You’re not in the cage every day cleaning it up. The players who actually improve are obsessed with the details. If that’s not you… good luck.

Barrel control with one hand drills are the best to really feel your swing and direction…. Can’t wait to see the comments about the wrist turning over… they have too, it’s a reason why I see so many young kids doing the chicken wing when they swing, whip the barrel and keep good direction! This 11 year old is a problem 🔥

Guys if you don’t get it just know that’s the reason only 7.5% of highschool players play college, only half a percent of that go on to play pro ball, I figured it out wayyyyyyy too late! Trying to help y’all figure it out early to give you the best chance to succeed, FIO! Use your hands and arms to hit the ball, hitting a baseball is a fine movement, can’t use broad muscles to swing think about it 🤷🏽♂️

Caught the Marlins game the other night to check out this talent, and he did not disappoint. I originally planned to record his on-deck routine just for my guys, but this is something every hitter needs to see. Being a good hitter is about so much more than just having a nice swing. Watch the preparation before the at-bat—he’s locked in, timing every pitch, getting his foot down early, and sticking to a plan. If you step in the box without an approach, you’re already behind. Preparation is performance.

Feel vs. Real is something I notice a lot of you don’t understand and it’s probably one of the most important things to understand, you see swing down on my shirt but I don’t really want you to swing down I promise 🤦🏽♂️, it’s just to get you guys to be level and create nice backspin to all parts of the field!

This is how I like lessons to go, hitting lessons are supposed to be a conversation, I’m trying to make sure the player truly understand why we’re doing things and I want to know what’s going on in their heads and what they’re thinking and feeling!!! Hitting is a feel you’re not looking at yourself when hitting so sometimes what you feel you’re doing, you’re really not!!! Stop taking reps with no purpose talk about it

To me little feel drills are so important, most of these kids are one good move away from being elite, but we need to understand hitting is a fine movement, and it’s small fine moves that are probably putting you in a bad spot to hit! My dude Joshua is gonna be a monster!

Here’s a clip from an online session I did with my guy Adrian out in California. Simple drill you can do right at home — because every rep should have a purpose. Find drills that actually translate and keep your swing consistent. This was my old man’s favorite drill helped him win two nattys, maybe it can help you!
