Hey Punks! Exactly 8 years ago (to the minute) I claimed my first punk. In the years since we've seen a ton of incredible ways the community has shown up for the project and created public goods for the ecosystem and here's yet one more for y'all to nerd out on. Excited to share a fun little tool for y'all I've been working on with Generative Goods and embroidery wizard (DCA) Daniel Calderon Arenas. Put your CryptoPunks punkID in the box and get professional quality DST (embroidery) files of your punk in a variety of sizes. I see people wearing their punks all the time and after spending the last few years deeply studying machine embroidery understand how annoying and complex it can be to get a good digitized version of your punk. A good digitization can cost $100 and that's for a single sized output. The punk embroidery generator will give you a range of sizes in stitch-perfect outputs for any of the 10k punks plus for the DIY folks a cross-stitch pattern for you to make your own by hand (s/o to Fanny Lakoubay and Rachel Wood who completed theirs of STONE's #98 recently 🙌). We've put some instructions on the site to help you through the process, plus some embroidery machine recommendations in case you want to go all out and make them look at feel professional. Note: GenGoods is not set up to do the embroidery for these (our system uses the same 15 colors across all our projects and Punks use way more colors across all the various outputs) but the downloads on the site give you exactly what you need to walk into any embroidery shop and have them make your punk for you. We suggest thread colors in the tool but that's just to get you started. A good embroidery shop will have tons to pick from so just pick the colors that best match your punk. Anyways we thought it would be a fun way to celebrate the punks 8th anniversary with this fun little tool. Can't wait to see what y'all make with this. Enjoy! 🍻

🚨There are no links in this post. Please be weary of impersonators. The project will not go live until next week and anything stating otherwise is a scam. 🚨 TLDR: On August 24th I’m releasing an inclusive edition generative project called Heart + Craft, in collaboration with Jordan Lyall, on Prohibition.art, priced at 0.01 ETH. Heart+Craft represents a lot to me. It represents an artistic style and medium that I have expressed since 2014. It represents my present curiosity towards demonstrating value for NFTs beyond scarcity, FOMO, and promise of future value utility. And it represents my vision of a digital optional / physical optional future that I believe can be appealing to a broader consumer audience. Heart + Craft illustrates the potential of art and creativity driven generative goods. On the surface, Heart + Craft is a colorful generative artwork that illustrates my eternal love of gradients, contained in the shape of a heart. There are seemingly unlimited possible combinations of colors and blocks that make up each (Zelda inspired) heart container. But beyond the digital object there is potentially also a physical object, and whether you value the digital or the physical more is entirely up to you. Similar to the concept behind the Friendship Bracelets project, created alongside Alexis André, each Heart + Craft iteration contains detailed instructions for producing a physical analogue. And similar to the bracelets, the value of the digital is not diminished if it is ever separated from its physical counterpart. With this project I’m particularly excited about a lot of things including: The intent that rarity is mostly a function of the complexity of assembling the physical sculpture. The idea that this project could inspire people to take a break from our increasingly digital world, diverting attention to making something tangible that lives in their physical space. The opportunity to spread love and good vibes with a relaxing experience, like building a puzzle, that can lead to personal satisfaction while contributing to a more positive and colorful world. The ability to explore new distribution mechanisms for our digital objects via inclusive editions such as developing kits that come with cubes, paint, glue, and the digital ownership certificate all in a beautiful box. Creating goods where digital objects can inspire a love for craft, and a craft that can catalyze curiosity and foster education for digital objects. Offering a low cost and disarming entry point for new consumers into our space through a project that can be enjoyed as a family, or be gifted to tech/art curious friends, clients, and coworkers. Having another opportunity to perpetuate the beautiful spirit of charitable giving culture that occupies our space by donating a portion of the proceeds in support of the arts. Huge shoutout to Jordan and the VenturePunk ▽✱ team for working with me in bringing this idea to life, the Art Blocks team and Art Blocks Engine for building and supporting the technology empowering a #1of1ofx future, all of the collectors who have instilled the confidence in me to put something like this into the world, and the artists that have played such a huge role in elevating the generative medium. And to my wife, who not only inspires me to put myself out there, but supported this insane journey along with friends and family. I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a long time . Hope you like it and make time to touch some paint here soon. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

send/receive update There are over 1000 tokens configured with a sprite and set to send and over 500 set to receive on the send/receive network. 8968 editions were minted for free over the claim window and I set the final edition size to a clean 10k. The remaining mints will be used as an onboarding mechanism to introduce on chain interactive and participatory art to new people as I continue on my mission to make what we do around here interesting and compelling to new audiences. Seeing this many people interact with the work has been super meaningful, and I'm excited to keep expanding on the project over time. I particularly enjoyed having my kids log into @Artblocks with an email which generates a Privy embedded wallet and guiding them through the process of purchasing a mint off secondary and configuring it (after I funded the wallet with a bit of ETH). Once they set it up they ran to the living room where we have a receiving token set up and watched and waited until their's appeared. We sit around and watch the live view often pointing out all the fun sprites but when they saw theirs they got REALLY excited and continue to do so as they walk past it and see their contribution every day. I think there's something really interesting about all this. Seeing yourself in a networked artwork like this seems to be compelling to folks, and I am excited to watch the network of sprites grow over time. I'm especially excited about the perpetual nature of the work, and the fact that all of the information and logic is on chain in a way where it should continue to operate as long as the Ethereum blockchain continues to produce blocks. Am also shocked at how cheap the customization of it is. You're storing a lot of info on chain for less than $1. Was always worried about this being on L1 and I know we can't count on this forever but really really pleased with the low cost to participate. If you have a token and haven't set it up yet just know it's super easy and smooth thanks to the Art Blocks UI that the team built. But if you're still intimidated maybe consider commissioning your favorite pixel artist to create a sprite for you. Anyways make sure and check into a live view every now and then to see all the sprites that have been created by the community. Change up your send/receive state or swap out your sprite when you're feeling it. I hope you're enjoying the experience of on chain participatory networked art as much as I am.
