The heartfelt traditional prayers that followed were a beautiful reminder of the richness of our culture and the blessings that come with genuine goodwill. The Ooni of Ife carries himself as a true royal father Baba Gbogbo Ayé. His humility, generosity, and deep respect for Yoruba culture continue to endear him to many. As a father to kings, he embraces the traditions, heritage, and spiritual values of the Yoruba people with grace. And beyond the crown and royal dignity, one thing many people love about him is his warm sense of humor. He truly knows how to make people smile. He is funny too.

Dear Yetunde Barnabas What is this? We know you are beautiful, talented, and blessed with the resources to produce your own movies. Congratulations on that. This is, however, a sincere appeal. If you’re going to tell stories around Yoruba traditional religion, please do so with adequate research, respect, and cultural depth or stay clear of such movies. Your recent movie Yemoja raises concerns about how our indigenous beliefs are portrayed. We live in a time when people ask questions, seek evidence, and critically examine religious narratives. That makes it even more important for filmmakers to represent every faith, whether Christianity, Islam, or Yoruba traditional religion with fairness and responsibility. If similar misrepresentations were made about other religions, the reactions would undoubtedly be strong. Not every story should be told without proper understanding. If the necessary cultural and spiritual grounding is absent, perhaps it’s better to focus on the genres you do exceptionally well, such as romance, family, and contemporary dramas. Our indigenous heritage deserves thoughtful storytelling, not portrayals that may leave people with misconceptions. I will review the Movie when the second part is out. ArugboBoisi ń lookọ mi

There is a difference between “Mo ti fún un lóyún” (I got her pregnant) and “Ó ní òun lóyún” (She claims she is pregnant). "I don give am belle and she get belle for me". it took about 14 years before K1 publicly acknowledged and accepted Maleek Omotibowale. Now that Azizat Tiwalade is also seeking recognition and acceptance. Rather than saying, “Kí ọmọ má bọ̀wálé” like the Maleek experience, he reportedly said, 🎼 “Ẹni bá lóyún, k'óyún sara ni. Do you remember this man? For over twenty years, Gbenga Adewusi has remained largely silent in the face of countless allegations and controversies. Instead of issuing lengthy explanations, his response has largely been videos of himself travelling around the world or singing prayerful Christian songs. Love him or dislike him, one thing is difficult to deny, Bayowa Baba Ìtùnú is truly one of a kind. A broadcaster, actor, musician, publicist, voice-over artist, Akéwì, filmmaker, and talent developer, his contributions to the Nigerian entertainment industry remain significant. From supporting the growth of Fuji music amidst controveries, to nurturing talents who later became stars, his impact cuts across generations. His works such as Àjèjì, Lárínlòódù, Lépa Shandy, Pink Ladies, and many others shaped an era of Yoruba entertainment industry, at a time when the address of zentury films, corporate pictures, epsalum production, afeezco International, gemini films etc was popular than the owners. Personally, I hope to someday sit with him for an interview and hear his truth and side of the story after all these years of silence.

Times are changing, and perhaps one of the most important things this generation must learn is respect for every religion and belief system. A lot of people grew up with wild imaginations and strange perceptions about the Traditional Institution and Ìṣẹ̀ṣe at large, because most of what they know came from Nollywood, theatre interpretations, or religious films. Sadly, many of those portrayals are exaggerated and far from the true representation of the faith. From believing every Babaláwo is a money ritualist or “child of Satan,” to seeing them as enemies of God, society created an image that often has little connection with reality. Some even overestimate native powers as though they can undo every natural law and principle of life, while others demonize everything connected to the old religion. Ironically, every religion has its own forms of rituals, prayers, symbols, and spiritual practices. Yet when someone practice isẹse and have similar problems like those in church or mosque, people ask mockingly, “Why can’t your Ifá or charms solve it?” as though humanity itself is beyond limitations. Many of us were raised with an “us against them” mentality, that taught us never to associate with traditional worshippers, and was encouraged through songs and sermons to speak against them. 🎼Jesus Power, super power! Orunmila power, Power less power🎼 Meanwhile, old chants from Babaláwo often carried prayers of peace and coexistence like: 🎼“Kí ikú má pa onigbagbọ, kí àrùn má ṣe onímòle, tó bá di ọdún tó ńbọ ká tún ara rí.”🎼 Now, in another twist, some reverts and enthusiasts from Christian or Islamic backgrounds who embrace Ìṣẹ̀ṣe have also carried the same toxic energy of “ours versus yours,” using songs and content to attack the religions they once belonged to. But must spirituality always become a battlefield? Must faith survive only by mocking another faith? Maybe true wisdom is understanding that respect does not reduce your belief. Peaceful coexistence does not weaken your faith. And humanity should always come before religious rivalry. This is the tale of “ọmọ iná là rán sí iná” curated by Tani Ọlọhun and others..
