In reporting a piece that involves Candace Owens, I reached out to her for comment, and to give her an opportunity to respond to my questions, including by correcting anything I might have gotten wrong. Instead of responding, Candace turned my outreach into content, attempting (and failing) to troll me. Also, for the record, I don't live in Tel Aviv. Even the most cursory click on my X "About" would reveal that's flatly inaccurate. (Yes, facts do still matter!) Anyways, the reporting will continue.

“The narrative has become ‘Iran is not a threat to America.’ What the f*ck are they talking about?” I sat down with David Keyes one of world’s foremost figures in countering authoritarian propaganda, to discuss how Iran seeded a deep, insidious narrative in the US to run interference for its imperial Islamist ambitions and genocidal intent.

I am truly honored, and also heartened to know that my Wikipedia reporting is having impact. Thanks to Vince Coglianese and to National Journalism Center. But I especially want to express my profound gratitude to Mike Solana. Solana supported my reporting throughout—and saw the magnitude of this beat well before anyone else did (or could have). Without Pirate Wires behind it, this reporting would never have happened. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was making you think he was an organic social media response to current issues rather than an Islamist terror-linked propaganda network with command-and-control procedures, extensive coordination, and a content pipeline to Reddit, Inc. Rooted in the r/Palestine subreddit, the network launders terrorist messaging from Hamas, Hezbollah, and other US-designated terror groups into mainstream platforms—and Reddit is at the center of it. A web of radical activist moderators belonging to the network controls over 100 subreddits, including some of the largest non-political communities on the platform. This includes r/Documentaries (20M members) to r/PublicFreakout (4.7M) The network's activities extend deep into X Quora Wikipedia and other major platforms. Known as "data poisoning," this effort is aimed at manipulating search results, AI models, and online discourse at scale. #reddit Pirate Wires

He was attacked in the streets by Antifa. Now he’s being attacked in the “neutral” space of Wikipedia — through recycled smears turned into alleged facts. NPOV sat down with Andy Ngo to unpack how sites, search and AI can become conduits of propaganda.

In the 2000s, Iranian propagandists recognized that climate change is what mattered most to the left (and therefore, to the media). Narrative warfare expert David Keyes told me how the regime built a "Iran ❤️ Climate" campaign to win Western minds. It worked.
