Today, I have a question. A pressing question. For some Western feminists. How can you remain silent, when women and girls are raped, tortured, their bodies carried around naked and spat on by bearded men shouting Allah Akbar? Then you can never call yourself a feminist again. Every day, including today, some Western hypocritical feminists should be ashamed of their silence on the horror that Hamas men inflicted to women and girls on 7 October. And that includes big names we were once proud of. Why are their lips sealed and their hearts of stone when it comes to the excruciating pain of Jewish women? The MeToo movement and so-called intersectional feminists do not care about all women. If they remain silent, it means they have lied to us about their commitment to women's rights. Their actions support the oppressor, not the victims. Also the EU money does. Indirectly. Those who say nothing about these women and the hostages, should not be standing here and speaking about human rights. When you are under attack by terrorists, a cease fire is like raising your hands when you are being shot at. Perhaps it is worth considering that a real lasting cease fire will start with bringing back all the hostages to their homes and the rapists to justice. Assita

I was very shocked today by the intervention of a colleague. So I asked… Why don’t you speak up against the violation of our fundamental rights and our values in Europe. Have you seen the people chanting in Rome, in London, in Paris, in Amsterdam, in Rotterdam, saying that we are the bad ones, saying that they are defending Palestinians, but in fact they are supporting the Islamic terrorist group Hamas. Did you see that? Why don’t you speak against that? The Palestinians are the first victims of the Hamas. Shame on you. More here 👇🏽#EPlenary

Why I vote for Eden Golan👇🏽 A young girl needs protection to take part in Eurovision. This is the situation that the press should take offence at, instead of stepping out of its role to be a political vehicle that turns a blind eye to the origin of the current conflict in the Middle East: a pogrom. Where young girls, also present at a music festival, could not be protected from the rage of Islamic terrorism. A world where such a pogrom is still possible. Where silence in the face of rape and mutilation as weapons of war is a reality. Of course we must support the civil Palestinian population. But that does not mean supporting Hamas and its plan to eradicate the Jews. That does not mean turning a blind eye to the fact that Hamas is the enemy number one of all Palestinians. That doesn’t mean forgetting that aid for them is deterred bij Hamas terrorists or that their children are educated to hate with UNRWA books that we pay. Quite the contrary. For all the innocent people killed, kidnapped or raped at Nova festival, I vote for Eden Golan. For a world where girls can sing and dance without being scared. #Eurovision #Eurovision2024

Hamas is a terrorist organization. This is not something that I am saying. This is something that we all know. It is reality. A reality studied and legally confirmed by the European Union who clearly recognizes Hamas as it is. A dangerous Islamic terrorist organization. Dangerous to whom? To all of us. A threat to our security. This is why an organization is put on the list of terrorist organizations in the first place. So to my colleagues in the EU, my question is simple. How are we, the representatives of this parliament supposed to feel safe when a member of this house, elected to represent our countries, citizens and freedom goes to a demonstration in a foreign country, namely Jordan, and stands enthusiastically among protests who have slogans supporting Hamas, the terrorist organization that is recognize by us as such and that demonstrated its level of cruelty and bloodthirst? According to the French newspaper Le Point this member was left-wing MEP Rima Hassan. She participated to a pro-Hamas demonstration in Jordan where participants honored Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh with slogans glorifying jihad and threatening to remove Jews from Jerusalem. Rima Hassan enthusiastically attended the demonstration and published the videos on her social media. Again, Hamas is recognized by the EU as an Islamic terrorist organization and has killed, kidnapped and raped innocent people on October 7 and long before as we all know. It is a terrorist organization that means hell for Palestinians and Israelis and represents a serious danger to Europe, hence its presence on the EU list of terrorist organizations. So on the one hand, we have the hostages and the innocent victims. On the other hand, we have the Hamas terrorists and their friends from Iran and Hezbollah. On whose side do we want to stand as European Parliament? I may hope that all of us will stand on the side of the hostages, of the innocent, of our own citizens and societies. On the side of freedom and security. My point in plenary this week about European values and choices. Assita Kanko

Together with women around the world, we say no to rape. Remember. The body of Shani Louk on the lorry, with these horrible Hamas men spitting on her and shouting Allahu Akbar, is the most horrible thing. As a woman, as a mother, as a human being and a politician, I felt a deep disgust when I heard the silence of so many powerful people after these October 7 crimes. The crime of these girls in Hamas eyes? Existing. Being Jewish, going to a festival. Shani Louk was young, she wanted to enjoy her life. Instead her life ended in the hands of Hamas. She was thrown onto this lorry, and we saw Hamas men dragging her half-naked with this lorry around and spitting on her, shouting “Allah Akbar”. For me, this image is worth more than 1,000 investigations, this image is stronger than 1,000 words, this image says it all. She and all others were someone’s daughters. How could the world let them down? Anyone who isn’t outraged and doesn’t stand up to what we’ve seen, frankly I don’t know whether that person deserves to be called a feminist or a humanist, but it’s a betrayal. It’s a betrayal of the cause of women and it’s a betrayal of all Jews, it’s a betrayal of humanity. For all the women and girls I joined forces with other women around the world to call for justice. This is our message. For the hostages to return home. For justice. Stop rape. Bring the rapists to justice. #UnitedWeStand

Just attended an important meeting with France’s Interior Ministry SG on the Muslim Brotherhood in Europe. What we heard confirms what we already knew: systematic infiltration of our institutions is real, strategic and dangerous. It’s time for Europe to wake up.

6 innocent hostages, including Hersh Goldberg-Polin, confirmed dead. Murdered by Hamas after nearly a year of captivity. October 7 was not in our imagination. It is a brutal reality that continues to break families and communities today, and how far the perpetrators think they can go says so much about our world today. How silent and passive certain people in power in the West remain also says a lot. As long as political influence in the West can be gained by terrorists through ethnic votes, silence and tolerance of terrorism will be part of our lives. That is not acceptable and we must fight it. Hersh Goldberg-Polin was a young American citizen. His parents fought with dignity for him and hoped he would come home. Can Hamas just take out an American citizen? What does this say about us? How long is someone allowed to fight for the lives of their loved ones? No one can expect the families and the only people fighting for them to give up. We may never forget. October 7 must never happen again. Who's next? These are the innocent children of innocent parents. It is urgent for the West and especially the EU to stop indirectly funding those who kidnapped and killed Hersh Goldberg-Polin and the others. To stop fueling terrorism against us and against innocent young people. I will always continue this fight. With you. Assita Kanko

My position about the Middle East remains firm & unambiguous. 🚨The situation in Gaza is appalling and we must provide humanitarian aid where necessary. 🚨Israel must be vigilant like any democratic country. 🚨Recognising a Palestinian state cannot be a reward for October 7th.

The Muslim Brotherhood works to implement Sharia in Europe. Using organisations to infiltrate schools and indoctrinate children. They spread radical ideas. Women are systematically pushed aside and hidden under headscarves that strip them of power and freedom. EU must wake up.

We stand with the Kurds of Syria. They paid an immense price for their courage. For years, they stood at the forefront of the fight against ISIS for our shared security. They were our allies against terrorists that enslaved women and beheaded people. We can’t abandon the Kurds.

While preparing for the debate in the European Parliament about antisemitisme, two Jewish men were stabbed in London. We all know why these men were targeted. We all know why Jewish schools and institutions need protection in Europe. Antisemitism is still widely underestimated.

Saying that antisemitism is unacceptable has nothing to do with Muslim hatred. It is sad and disappointing that these two topics have been connected for today’s debate in the European Parliament. How cynical! Because we all know who needs protection today and against whom. It is the Jewish schools, musea and synagogues that are guarded. And we all know why. But why is it so difficult to say it? To name the reality? We saw it in the streets here in Europe, calling to destroy the Jews. We saw it in the murders in the Jewish museum in Belgium. We saw it in the celebration of the pogrom in Israel. We saw it in the pressure for the silence kept by international organisations who ignored the pain of Jewish women. The reason why they kept silence is the same reason why whenever you say anything about antisemitism, they want to add Muslim hatred in the conversation or they say that you are a racist. It is the reason why so many European countries use taxpayers’ money to sponsor organisations who pretend to fight racism and Islamophobia but are the tentacles of the Muslim brotherhood, operating here to feed its forces against us in Europe. Today is Shani Louks birthday. She was born on February 7th 2001 and killed on October 7th in Israel. Saying that radical Islam is a threat, has nothing to do with Muslim hatred. Saying that antisemitism is unacceptable has nothing to do with Muslim hatred. On the contrary, it has everything to do with human dignity. #EPlenary

I will continue working tirelessly with my colleagues in the European Parliament to have the Muslim Brotherhood added ASAP to the European list of terrorist organisations! Together, we must build a Europe that protects our way of life. Thanks for your support, Assita Kanko

The terrorist attack last night against a synagogue in Liège, Belgium is terribly heartbreaking. It is, again, an attack on our values, society and future. I stand in solidarity with the Jewish community. We must combat antisemitism. Always. And unequivocally. Assita Kanko

The Kurds in Syria are being sacrificed on the altar of cynical geopolitics. The EU pledged 2.5 billion in financial support to the new Syrian regime for 2025-2026. A resurgent network of Al-Qaeda and ISIS, remnants on Europe's doorsteps, threatens us all. So why pay for this?

It came to my attention that Mohannad Al-Khatib, a Hamas fan somehow linked to the October 7 attacks, is walking around freely in Brussels, posting propaganda and traveling across Europe unchecked. How did he even get here in the first place? My point about EU self sabotage. 👇🏽

The hatred of Jews and anti-western propaganda in our universities greatly worries me. It's not just in the United States, but also here. Namely at ULB in Brussels and at the University of Ghent. The organizer of the occupation in Ghent couldn't even condemn Hamas on TV yesterday. What a surrender to values so far removed from ours! Even some liberal politicians downplay this or act as stokers with their cowardly political discourse. What are they still defending today? Not our values and norms, but the opposite. The unrest at the universities and the cowardice of many politicians shows that our way of life has become vulnerable. The Trojan Horse is within our walls, and we accept it through excessive tolerance. We must have the courage to name this problem and turn our universities back into places where people can think critically again. Far from dogmas and extremism. Far from violence and anti-Semitism. Provoking sympathy from Islamists is not only a betrayal, it's also a threat. It's clear to me: you must culturally integrate into Europe or leave for Iran or Gaza. The path is clear. Enjoy your time with the Ayatollahs or Hamas. But don't destroy our universities. We will not accept this behaviour. We must always stand for our European Values & norms. For a Europe that protects us. Assita

Hiertegen moeten we ons verzetten. Dit kan gewoon niet. Wij maar ook onze dochters moeten zich veilig kunnen voelen op straat. Daarvoor moeten we blijven strijden. Assita

RTL info #Buxant
