Spotted ISS pass by last night at L-3. Soyuz gets there in 3 hours and 20 minutes. I wondered how it happens so fast - ISS does a reboost as well so their orbits are perfectly timed to sync up. There is also a slight attitude change of ISS. That reboost happen several days ago to get ready for the 11/27 launch.

Sat in the Barany chair today — one of the things we do before spaceflight. Eyes closed, tilt your head to each side for two seconds, over and over. Some of my crewmates went nearly 20 minutes. I started feeling disoriented and nauseous after about a minute. A humbling reminder of how adaptable (and unpredictable) the vestibular system can be.

Tonight, in Star City, there was a celebration of Jesus’ baptism in the Jordan river (by Julian calendar). There was a hole cut into the frozen lake. I called Anna Menon to give me permission to just watch, but she encouraged me to join. There was no turning back.

Just wrapped up a week of training on Soyuz and station with our crew for Expedition 75. Our training included emergencies on station and Soyuz. We brought it all together from an emergency on station (ammonia or fire in photos) that caused us to move to the Soyuz.
