Elon Musk once shared this touching story about his son Saxon: "One of my sons, Saxon, who's sort of autistic but he's kind of awesome, he's like an article of wisdom. For a long time, I tried to have a family dinner at a restaurant once a week. Saxon really didn't understand why we were doing this. Then finally, he had an epiphany and said, "Oh… the reason people go to restaurants is to hang out with strangers?" And I'm like, yeah… that's actually true. You can get the same food delivered, you can invite friends over… but what you can't get at home is hanging out with strangers."

And we were walking through an airport and he saw a newspaper and that today’s date was printed on the newspaper. And he stopped for a second and he was like, 'How did they know it was today’s date?' And I was like, 'No, they print out those newspapers every day.' He says, 'Every day? What a chore.' And then he sort of somewhat dismissively said, 'Oh, they probably just read the internet and print it out.' Yeah, they read the internet and print it out, pretty much."

Elon doesn’t hide it when something doesn’t add up. The eyebrow goes up and the conversation changes. There’s no polite delay or soft landing. He just stops buying it in real time. That reaction has stayed consistent for years. It’s one of the few things about him that never got polished out.
