Hot take on Chief Wallabee. 1) The stretch trouble was overblown. 2) Ocelli was moving better than him PRIOR to the traffic issue he faced. 3) The move down to the rail made his stretch run look better than it really was. 4) He was not gaining on the top three at the wire. In the 2021 West Point Stakes, Repole Stable entered Mo Ready and Microsecond in the race, both trained by Todd Pletcher. The favorite was a Chad Brown speed ball named Rinaldi. Microsecond was sent in an all-out blitz after Rinaldi from the jump and was subsequently eased. Was this not an example of a rabbit and a tactic being used by Repole ironically against a Chad Brown runner?
