$MY TWO CENTS #AVLARS Min 66. Gabriel takes a punt at an interception and misses. Villa are away on a dangerous-looking counter. And Declan Rice somehow teleports across and cuts out the through ball. Someone please check The Shard for his spaceship. The man is clearly an alien. Tzolis is every bit as industrious as Martinelli tracking back. Not his best game, but then Villa away isn’t Coventry at ours. There is no goalkeeper in world football better at collecting crosses than David Raya. Strong, assured and the ball just seems to stick into his gloves If Spain played cricket, he’d keep wickets. Bruno G cameo was terrific. Proper line breaker. Some quality passes. Thought he should’ve had a pen too. #SUNARS My Two Cents Proper, brutal, grinding football at a properly tough venue. Well played, Sunderland. 👏🏽👏🏽 They made us earn every bloody blade of grass. Great to see Xhaka, as always. And I’m wondering why more teams weren’t in for Brobbey and Ballard in the window Ballard plays like the survival of the human race depends on him winning his next tackle Maybe he has a point to prove against Arsenal Maybe he’s putting himself in the shop window for Mikel Either way, the man also clearly knows judo. He bought that pen, plain n simple. The PGMOL tried to make up for no reds or pens to the Arsenal last yr. (See video) Always rated Brian Brobbey. Seriously, is there a better hold-up player around right now? He was Sunderland’s constant outlet and the ball simply sticks to his feet. Also built like a Sherman tank. You don’t dispossess Brobbey. You wait for him to give the ball back. And WHAT is this voodoo at right-back for Arsenal? Timber finally gets fit n White gets injured. Clockwork. #PSGARS The Finals My two cents… Vitinha is just phenomenal. Modrić 2.0 levels of midfield control. What a footballing metronome 👏🏽👏🏽 Well played PSG. Superior on the day The odds-on favourites won. They needed a penalty to get level and then the Gunners lost on penalties. Speaking of penalties... why wasn't the last one taken by Madueke, an actual fwd, or Zubi? Intriguing choice. Mikel clearly had his reasons, but it did raise an eyebrow. And while we're on penalties, can we please stop with the stutter step dance on the run-up? Just hit it like Rooney did and Gyökeres does. Hard High Top Bins Read: Eze. 🤦‍♂️ The best attack and midfield in the world came up against the best defence in the world. Fine margins I'd promised myself I wouldn't mention officiating, but here we are. Forget the Noni penalty shout. The sheer inconsistency of what was and wasn't deemed a foul all night was baffling Never seen half time called when a side is about take a corner 🤷🏼‍♂️ (There was no delay in taking it) If Timber was fit enough for minutes, was he not fit enough to start at RB for 60’?
