Aliens (1986) 35mm trailer. I find this edgy and definitely awesome. The 35mm style only adds to it.

This is a rare behind-the-scenes shot of the original Xenomorph from the 1979 film Alien. The image clearly reveals the eerie “human” skull visible beneath the creature’s translucent dome. A deliberate design choice by H.R. Giger. He included it to suggest that the alien mimics distinctive features of its host.

The special effects for Starship Troopers were from 1997. Let that sink in.

Bill Paxton’s first on-screen death was also one of the cleanest introductions of pure machine lethality in cinema. The Terminator (1984).... punk leader scene:“Nice night for a walk, eh?” “I think this guy’s a couple cans short of a six-pack.” Then the perfect closer: “Fuck you, asshole!”No monologue. No hesitation. Just the T-800 establishing the rules in under a minute. Paxton sells the cocky street energy so hard that the violence lands even harder

This is the definition of amazing practical effects in modern cinema.

Honestly, I am not a fan if 4k. I prefer the old school 35mm stuff. Like this Alien trailer.

And to believe Bill Paxton didn't know they were going to do this.
