Saw this video on r/NJGuns and felt compelled to share it. A black man gets pulled over in Camden, NJ while carrying concealed. Something that stuck out to me was this guy did look like your typical black given his clothing, tattoos, and demeanor. However, despite the stereotype, the stop went exceptionally well. 2 key details should immediately jump out: 1) The placement of his hands at the start of the stop were on the steering wheel 2) He immediately disclosed he was carrying concealed As Kostas Moros has pointed out in prior posts, these are things criminals don’t do. That and wearing a holster (as this man said he was carrying “appendix) are virtually never associated with actual crime. Additionally: - The man never disclosed he actually held a PTCH nor did the officers ever ask to see it. Based on the video it doesn’t even appear he presented one to them. - The man was never asked to exit his vehicle and wasn’t given any citations for the infractions. I think this confirms what we all know to be true—that LEO are not racist. Instead, they recognize patterns of behavior associated with criminal activity and act accordingly. In this case, this man displayed every green flag possible and was treated accordingly.
