מה שהיה אתמול בשטחים היה ״ליל האש״. מתנחלים ביצעו פוגרום רחב שנמשך למעלה משש שעות, פגעו ביותר מ-14 כפרים, תקפו עשרות פלסטינים, ואיש לא עצר אותם. אם הצבא היה רוצה לעצור את טרור המתנחלים, הוא היה יכול לעשות זאת בתוך ימים ספורים. מה שמתרחש ברחבי הגדה המערבית אינו טעות, זו מדיניות של טרור ושל טיהור אתני, בעידוד הממשלה ובחסות הצבא.

After 70 Knesset members signed the petition to begin the impeachment procedures, today, the House Committee took the second step to disqualify and remove me from the Knesset. My message to the fascists was clear: I am proud of my positions. I will not back down. I will not apologize. Because my moral and humane convictions, which are a global consensus, are considered extreme only in this country. History will absolve me. And history will judge them.

אני חוזר עכשיו מטקס הזיכרון המשותף הישראלי-פלסטיני של פורום המשפחות השכולות ולוחמים לשלום. קשה לתאר במילים את עומק הכאב, את השכול, ואת הסבל של כל כך הרבה משפחות ישראליות ופלסטיניות, שלמרות הכל, ואולי דווקא בגלל הכל, בוחרות שנה אחר שנה לשתף את הכאב הזה, ולהפוך אותו לכוח שאי אפשר לעצור. ולכוח הזה יש שם: תקווה. תקווה לריפוי ולתיקון, תקווה לחופש ולחיים בכבוד. ובעיקר, תקווה לשלום, לביטחון, ולעתיד אחר, עתיד טוב יותר לכולנו.

Listen carefully to Bezalel Smotrich, Israel’s Minister of Finance, when he talks about the Palestinian citizens of Israel, because he is using exactly the same propaganda that the Nazis used to portray Jews in Germany in the 1930s. Smotrich, a staunch believer in racial supremacy, repeats the exact same terms and ideas. For example, Julius Streicher, founder of the Nazi Party newspaper Der Stürmer, wrote: “The Jew does not earn his money through honest work, like a farmer or a laborer, but lives off the labor of others. He lives off the sweat of people who work for him.” Streicher was convicted of crimes against humanity at the Nuremberg Trials and executed at the end of WWII. This is no longer just the banality of evil, this is absolute evil.

THIS IS WHAT A GOVERNMENT THAT FEARS REAL OPPOSITION LOOKS LIKE. THIS IS WHAT A FASCIST POLICE FORCE THAT FEARS ITS OWN CITIZENS LOOKS LIKE. Tonight in Tel Aviv, and in many other cities, large demonstrations took place against the war and against the government. Thousands took to the streets. Ben Gvir’s police tried to silence us and violently disperse our protest. They do not want us to raise our voices. They want the public to believe that the only alternative is to live by the sword forever. They fear this voice, the voice that says it is possible to live without wars, without occupation; to live in real peace and true security. They are terrified of the alternative we are offering. But we are not afraid of them. Not at all. Big respect to all the protesters standing firm. The more they try to suppress and silence us, the more we will grow, and the stronger we will become.

יש כיום כ-100,000 ניצולי שואה החיים בינינו. כלל ניצולי השואה כאן הם בני למעלה מ-80, וכשליש מהם כבר חצו את גיל 90. אך כל שורד שלישי חי מתחת לקו העוני. לפני עשור, יחד עם חברי דב חנין, העברנו הצעת חוק לתיקון חוק ההטבות לניצולי שואה, שנועדה לבטל את קיזוז הקצבאות החודשיות המשולמות לניצולים מגרמניה מתוך ההטבות הניתנות להם על ידי מדינת ישראל. ק. צטניק, סופר וניצול שואה, טבע את המושג ״פלנטה אחרת״. אני משוכנע שגם ההתנהלות של כולנו חייבת להיות ״מפלנטה אחרת״. כי לא רק שמגיע להם לחיות בכבוד, מגיע להם גם ליהנות ממה שנותר להם לחיות. אין דבר צודק מזה. אין דבר ערכי מזה.

מתנחלים פרצו היום לאום אל-ח׳יר ומנעו מילדים פלסטינים לשחק כדורגל במגרש הכפר, שגם כך נמצא תחת איום הריסה מצד כוחות הכיבוש. אני מסתכל על הילדים המסכנים האלה, שלא עשו רע לאיש, ועל הבריונים שמולם, שנדמה שכל מה שיש בליבם הוא שנאה, ומתקשה למצוא מילים שיתארו את עומק הכאב שאני מרגיש. אל תשארו אדישים למראות האלה. למען הילדים האלה, למען הילדים שלכם, ולמען העתיד של כולנו: די לכיבוש.

זה מה שמתרחש היום בעיר העתיקה בירושלים: אלימות, הסתה וטרור נגד תושבים פלסטינים, פעילים ועיתונאים, הכול בחסות ובעידוד הממשלה. מחריד לראות דור של צעירים שמחונך לשנאה, לגזענות ולתחושת עליונות על בני אדם אחרים. כבר נאמר שהכיבוש משחית, והוא בוודאי משחית גם את המוסר. כבוד לפעילים, לעיתונאים ולכל מי שמסרבים לשתוק מול התופעה הבזויה והמסוכנת הזאת.
