Earlier today, I had the honour of attending a public lecture delivered by my father, His Highness, Khalifa Muhammad Sanusi II, PhD (London), CON, Emir of Kano, on "Eco Currency and Monetary Integration in West Africa: Implications for Nigeria," at the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS). The lecture was insightful, engaging, and rich with practical lessons on economic governance, institutional development, and the pathway to sustainable growth in Nigeria and across West Africa. His Highness emphasized that visions for our nation must be matched by deliberate actions if they are to become reality. He spoke extensively on the importance of strong public institutions led by principled and competent individuals, noting that true strength in public service lies not in exercising power without restraint, but in understanding and respecting the legal framework of institutions. According to him, the misuse of institutions is not a sign of strength but of weakness. Particularly noteworthy were his remarks on the role of every citizen in nation-building. As he aptly observed, it is our collective responsibility to commend what is good and criticize what is bad. While Nigerians must adapt to unavoidable challenges and necessary sacrifices, we must never become docile in the face of avoidable, preventable, or deliberate decisions that impose unnecessary burdens on the people. As Chairman of the House Committee on Banking Regulations, I was encouraged by his recognition of the importance of preserving the independence of key public institutions. His commendation of the ongoing efforts of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Yemi Cardoso, to stabilize the economy, and his acknowledgement of our Committee's commitment to respecting the Bank's statutory independence while carrying out effective legislative oversight, were particularly gratifying. I thank the Director-General of NILDS, Prof. Abubakar O. Sulaiman, and his dedicated team for organizing and hosting this important lecture. I also express my profound appreciation to His Highness, for sharing from his immense wealth of knowledge and experience. It was a truly enlightening engagement and a timely reminder that strong institutions, principled leadership, and active citizenship remain indispensable to Nigeria's progress. Attached is a video of my remarks as insisted by the DG. Signed Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai Member. Kaduna North Federal Constituency Chairman, Committee on Banking Regulations. June 25, 2026.

Yesterday after Eid prayers, I paid a Salah visit to my brother and friend, Sadiq Umar of valenciaomuerte at his private residence. He is an exceptional football talent who continues to make Nigeria proud on the global stage. I consider him to the greatest export from Kaduna North on the global stage. I am proud to call him my friend, brother and business partner in our journey with Ranchers Bees Hausa🇳🇬 Our conversation was filled with laughter, reflection, and shared hopes for the future of sports development in our country, especially through our Ranchers Bees Football Club. I am grateful to his mother, Hajiya Asabe (Baba), a mother to all of us and a pillar of the community. Her prayers and support on my political journey were very touching. She has always been an ardent fan of dear father and reiterated her support for him. Sadiq remains a shining example of discipline, resilience, humility, and dedication. It is always inspiring to see young Nigerians excelling internationally while still maintaining strong ties to home and community. He was the one that recommended I pray at Eid on Maiduguri Street and I was happy to oblige. I wish him continued success, good health, and greater achievements ahead for both club and country. May this Salah season bring peace, joy, and renewed blessings to us all. Signed Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai Member. Kaduna North Federal Constituency Chairman, Committee on Banking Regulations. My short and unexpected remarks after the Mallam’s arraignment at the Kaduna State High Court yesterday. It was truly humbling to see thousands come out to wish Mallam all the best. We are very appreciative and it’s the least he deserves. As it was when he ran the Federal Capital Territory, history is already being kind to him Kaduna. I reiterated the collective belief of a lot of his remarkable administrative skills. Evident by the numerous development strides he and his team achieved from 2015 to 2023 We will proudly defend his honour in midst of this poorly coordinated persecution. Feel free to listen if you are interested.

Update V: (Unguwan Gwari Ward). In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful. Earlier today, I instructed my team to continue the next phase of our Primary Healthcare Support Initiative with the delivery of medical supplies and 2000 syringes to the Primary Health Care Centre in Unguwan Gwari Ward. As with our previous interventions, the supplies are free to residents of the ward, regardless of ethnicity, religion or political affiliation. Unguwan Gwari is a predominantly Christian community, and this intervention reinforces our commitment to serving every constituent without discrimination. This follows our support to the PHCs in Unguwar Sarki, Badarawa/Malali and Shaba Wards some weeks ago. I sincerely appreciate Medical Plastics Limited and my friend, Amir Baba Kusa, for their continued support. We will keep working with partners to strengthen primary healthcare across Kaduna North. My brief remarks in Hausa today at the Kaduna State High Court after Mallam Nasir Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai’s case was adjourned until April 14th, 2026. We continue to stand with Mallam in solidarity. We are proud of his administrative excellence and his public service record from his days in the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Ministry of Federal Captial Territory and as the father of Modern Kaduna. I used the opportunity to commiserate with our brothers and sister that were tragically killed in Jos and Maiduguri. May Almighty God bless their souls. And may He guide we leaders to focus on the what really matters. The safety and socio-economic development of our citizens. Signed Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai Member. Kaduna North Federal Constituency Chairman, Committee on Banking Regulations. April 1, 2026.

Earlier today, I joined colleagues at the Special Plenary Session of the House of Representatives convened to address Nigeria’s worsening security challenges. In my contribution, I reaffirmed a position I have long held: Nigeria must embrace State Policing, not as a political slogan, but as an urgent, practical solution to the realities our communities face. Security cannot be effectively managed from Abuja alone. I also stressed the need to improve police welfare and end recruitment driven by allocation or favor. States should determine their manpower needs, and the process must be digitized, transparent, and merit-based. Beyond policing, I highlighted a painful but undeniable truth: many parts of the North face a deepening education crisis. With limited opportunities, young people become vulnerable to harmful online influences, including extremist propaganda - a growing and dangerous trend. I made it clear that leaders, myself included, must take responsibility. While efforts have been made, we have not done enough. Nigeria cannot overcome insecurity without investing in the fundamentals: education, employment, community development, and effective governance. Ultimately, every reform we advocate is for one purpose: to ensure that citizens can live in safety, raise their families in peace, and build meaningful lives without fear. That is the Nigeria we must all work toward - together. Signed Mohammed Bello El-Rufai Member Kaduna North Federal Constituency Chairman, Committee on Banking Regulations. November 27, 2025.

In the name of Allah SWT, after consulting my team, we have decided to name the block of classrooms we constructed in Rafin Guza, the first we did a year and some months ago, after our late brother, the former Councillor of Kawo Ward, Hon. Aminu Ayuba, fondly called MC. About a year ago, we completed multiple classrooms in other wards. We will continue to invest in education across Kaduna North until the last day. On behalf of the people of Kaduna North that I proudly represent, the newly completed block at Rafin Guza, has now been named after the late Hon. Aminu Ayuba MC, former Councillor of Kawo Ward, who passed away just two days ago. Aminu MC was a brother and friend to many across party lines, a good man who contributed immensely to Kawo. After consulting with our advisers, we felt it was fitting to honour his memory in this way. He is the youngest person we have named an initiative after. We have also rebuilt the school fence, because every child, regardless of their background, deserves access to a safe place to learn. This joins our other recently named projects: L.E.A Kabala Primary School, named after the late Alhaji Musa Lawal (Baba Lawal Protocol); Government Secondary School, Unguwan Rimi, named after our late father, Baba Mouftahu Baba Ahmed; and the ICT Centre at Government Girls Secondary School, Kigo Road, named after my former Principal, the late Mrs. Dolores Lami Mohammed (MFR). In the coming days, together with traditional leaders, elders and the management of the schools, we will launch these projects. May the souls of those we have honoured continue to rest in peace. Thank you. Signed Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai Member. Kaduna North Federal Constituency Chairman, Committee on Banking Regulations. August 14, 2026.

My humble contribution to the motion moved by elder brother, Hon. Suleiman Abubakar Gumi, representing Gumi/Bukkuyum Federal Constituency. The motion was on the need to ‘Ban Inappropriate Educational Materials In Nursery and Pre-Primary Schools In Nigeria.’ I’d like to thank Mr. Speaker and the leadership for giving me the opportunity to say my mind. Thank you.

Update II: I am pleased to announce that the ongoing block of classrooms in Government Secondary School has been completed. It is located in Kabala Ward. The classrooms were done in the name of Alhaji Lawal Musa, fondly remembered as Baba Lawal Protocol. Alhaji Lawal Musa Protocal was an elder statesman and a seasoned civil servant whose achievements (having served the administration of three Governors of Kaduna State) will echo in the history of our dear state. Local gardeners and flower sellers across Kaduna North are currently planting trees and adding some greenery to the school. Once it is a done, the ad hoc committee alongside elders and traditional leaders will flag it off. They deserve all the credit so they should the do the flag off. Education (quality and affordable) has always been and will always be the cornerstone of our legislative agenda. Attached are videos of the progress. Signed Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai Member. Kaduna North Federal Constituency Chairman, Committee on Banking Regulations. July 26, 2026.

Update III (Badarawa/Malali Ward): In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful. Earlier today, I instructed my team member to continue with the next phase of our Primary Healthcare Support Initiative. An undisclosed amount was released to purchase additional supplies. In a few hours, we will be supplying 2,000 syringes and other essential medical supplies to the Primary Health Care Centre of Badarawa/Malali Ward, in Kaduna North. As announced months ago, the syringes were generously provided by Medical Plastics Limited. I sincerely appreciate their continued support and commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery in our communities. Special mention to my friend, Amir Baba Kusa. On behalf of the people of Kaduna North, we will continue to lobby, partner and plead with businesses and organisations to aid our vulnerable citizens. The latest supplies will be free to every citizen of Kaduna North residing in the ward regardless of ethnicity, religion or political affiliation. My team and the management of each PHC will ensure this. It is my only request. I am also pleased to announce that the renovation works Unguwan Sarki, which we highlighted earlier was completed a while ago. These renovations were undertaken in partnership with D8-HSP, whose support has helped improve the facilities and create a better environment for both healthcare workers and the communities they serve. Back then, the Minister of Health & Human Services publicly commended our efforts. Our focus remains simple: to support our primary healthcare centres with the basic infrastructure, equipment and supplies they need to serve our people, particularly the most vulnerable among us. This is an ongoing initiative, and we will continue to do our part, In Shaa Allah. Thank you to Medical Plastics Limited and D8-HSP for partnering with us in this effort. While others are distracted by elections and paid media, the people of Kaduna North will continue to be our focus, with a focus on quality, affordable education and healthcare development. Earlier today, I received my younger brother and the biggest Northern artist by numbers (streams, likes, endorsement and content), vision and creativity in my view, our very own DJ Ab, popularly known as DJ AB. He and I go way back as proud KD boys. Ever proud of Yaran North Side. He has always been supportive of our plans to elevate our local government and enhance the reputation of our beloved Kaduna North Federal Constituency. He alongside my brother Sadiq Umar of Valencia CF are one of greatest prides. They continuously inspire our young people and have also made themselves available for the progress of Kaduna North. By the grace of God, DJ Ab’s team and my team will design an entertainment initiative this December for the constituency. I admit that my team and I need to do more for the creative and entertainment industry. I take the blame for that failure. I am honoured by his visit despite his busy schedule. God bless you my brother. On behalf of the people of Kaduna North that I proudly represent, I am very proud of you. Signed Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai Member. Kaduna North Federal Constituency Chairman, Committee on Banking Regulations. June 10, 2026.

As we continue to celebrate this blessed Eid, I had the honour of observing the Eid prayers yesterday at Maiduguri Street, Doka, alongside the good people of Kaduna North. Moments like these remind us of the beauty of community, faith, and togetherness. Beyond the festivities, Eid is a season of gratitude, sacrifice, compassion, and renewed commitment to one another. I remain deeply grateful for the prayers, support, and goodwill of our people. Kaduna North will always be home, and I will continue to cherish every opportunity to stand, pray, and celebrate with my people. May Allah (SWT) accept our fast, sacrifice and prayers as acts of Ibadah. May He bless our homes with peace and happiness, and continue to unite us in love and understanding. Eid Mubarak to everyone on behalf of the excellent people of Kaduna North. Signed Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai Member. Kaduna North Federal Constituency Chairman, Committee on Banking Regulations. At plenary today, I gave my contributions on a lead debate about a bill that sought to amend the Constitution so each geo-political zone can have a President and Vice President after 8 years. While it sounded idealistic and nice, the realities seemed different. Each region has numerous ethnicities and tribes. I also leaned against it as it infringes on the rights of every eligible Nigerian to contest. What is more important than zoning is for we, political and appointed leaders, to dedicate our time and resources for our people to the best of our ability. The antidote to tribalism and mistrust is quality governance across board. The unwritten agreement of power rotating between the North and South is sacrosanct. Political parties and leaders must respect it, as was the case in the 1999 Presidential Elections when only Southern candidates emerged as Presidential candidates. It is a failure on the part of the political class and our political parties that we cannot do the same nowadays. I believe there is no need to have it stated in the constitution as the concept of Federal Character is there to serve as a reminder to some extent. We have more important issues like quality and affordable education, health care insurance to citizens, financial inclusion, tacking unemployment, decreasing our infrastructure deficit and increasing transparency in the public sector. The aspect of the bill was stepped down.

At today's plenary, I proudly seconded the motion moved by my colleague, Hon. Babajimi Benson, calling for an investigation into the losses, damages, and casualties suffered by Nigerians as a result of recurring xenophobic attacks in the Republic of South Africa. I commended the timely nature of the motion (sponsored by Hon. Babajimi Benson), and noted that these attacks run contrary to the ideals of the African Union and our shared commitment to international law. Such acts cannot become the norm. There must be accountability, and our response must be deliberate and sustained. I also urged that, in the future, ambassadors should be appointed promptly to ensure that Nigeria is never left without the diplomatic representation needed to protect the interests of our citizens abroad. Beyond diplomacy, we must also remain focused on repairing our own country. The strongest protection we can offer Nigerians is to build a nation where our people can thrive at home rather than feel compelled to seek opportunities or refuge elsewhere. Our compatriots in the diaspora are our constituents too. We owe them a duty of care, and they deserve to know that their Parliament stands with them wherever they may be. They remain in our thoughts, and we will continue to pursue every legislative and diplomatic avenue to safeguard their interests. Signed Hon. Mohammed Bello El-Rufai Member. Kaduna North Federal Constituency Chairman, Committee on Banking Regulations. July 21, 2026.

My humbled contribution to the 2025 Appropriation Bill. The bill was deliberated upon at great length in a day that turned out to be very long. In summary, there are certain budget line items that Ministries and MDA's should not be earmarking anymore. These include the new vehicles, furniture, stationeries and other equipments like computers and printers on an annual basis among others. These could last for years if managed well. As we continue to enact reforms that will shape Nigeria's sustainable development, it is imperative for public officials in the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government to keep in mind that these are dire times for our people. We should be at the front of line of making the necessary sacrifices, not the citizens. Thoroughly enjoyed the President's speech during the budget presentation. Kudos to the executive and all those that joined Mr. President in his visit to the National Assembly. Finally, I am grateful to the Speaker for the opportunity and my colleagues for the time. Happy Holidays in advance.
