By Thursday, we will be announcing Phase IV of the Health Insurance for vulnerable citizens in Kaduna. The figure takes us to over 1, 000 in partnership with KACHMA. I missed being in the office. In the next few weeks, I will state my position politically. I owe the public that. I always state whatever I do through my handles. I was with my father for a few hours and he is fine with me running. As God is my witness, and on behalf of the excellent people Kaduna North, I will be running for office in 2027, if alive. We will still focus on the job we were elected to do, and there are a few leaders, Northern Statesmen and fathers that I have to speak to. My position is peculiar. But I have tried to handle with honour and dignity. My wife and I have decided this is the right course. And my people are with me, on social media and offline. I have never feared an election for a day. But it is the right of anyone to try. Respect that right knowing my record speaks for me. Thank you.

Update I: In the name of Allah SWT, the most Compassionate, the most Merciful. During Ramadan, my team distributed food items to low incomes households in Kaduna North. We have done this consistently since elected. There was a debate whether to notify the public about this due to ‘rice pandemic’ encouraged by ‘we’ politicians. I have decided to notify the public mainly to express my gratitude to those that contributed this year. The food items were given to those in need regardless of tribe, party affiliation, gender or religion. This week, we will focus on orphanages. On behalf of the people of Kaduna North that I proudly represent, our gratitude goes to the following individuals. The Dangote Foundation: Through our father, his Personal Assistant and my elder brother and friend, Mallam Jamilu ensured we had two hundred bags, which have since been distributed. Jamilu is a fantastic human being and a kind soul. I must thank the ever compassionate SkyDanfoDriver 🛫 (Capt. Jamil) once again. The Jafaru Paki Family: Through my brother, friend from our college days, Hassan Paki, we received 80 bags of and 100 bags of maize. Sadiq Umar: The Super Eagles Star and striker of Valencia FC is always there for Kaduna North. He is one of us. We are in a partnership as co owners of Ranchers Bees, with the aim of improving grass root football. Popularly known as Jololo, he made the biggest contribution this year. Please pray for him as well. N:B: As is our habit for the last two years and due to advise of many, including some on this space. There were no pictures and posters attached to any of these items. Update: On March 6, 2025, I posted on our social media platforms that we had initiated plans to provide palliatives cash (via our Conditional Cash Transfar Initiative), to those in need in Kaduna North. I stated that we will do all we can to get to as many as individuals in Kaduna North. I coined it that as Phase I (550 bags of rice and other food items were shared). We started Phase II two days by supplying vulnerable citizens of Kaduna North. We also began to supply palliatives to Christian Communities in Kaduna North with the commencement of Phase II, starting with Unguwar Gwari in Kawo Ward and Farin Gida in Unguwar Kanawa/Hayin Bank Ward for the Holy Lent Period. This is not a permanent solution. But easing the difficulty as a result of the high cost of living is an act of compassion that we proudly subscribe to. Yesterday after Eid prayers, I paid a Salah visit to my brother and friend, Sadiq Umar of valenciaomuerte at his private residence. He is an exceptional football talent who continues to make Nigeria proud on the global stage. I consider him to the greatest export from Kaduna North on the global stage. I am proud to call him my friend, brother and business partner in our journey with Ranchers Bees Hausa🇳🇬 Our conversation was filled with laughter, reflection, and shared hopes for the future of sports development in our country, especially through our Ranchers Bees Football Club. I am grateful to his mother, Hajiya Asabe (Baba), a mother to all of us and a pillar of the community. Her prayers and support on my political journey were very touching. She has always been an ardent fan of dear father and reiterated her support for him. Sadiq remains a shining example of discipline, resilience, humility, and dedication. It is always inspiring to see young Nigerians excelling internationally while still maintaining strong ties to home and community. He was the one that recommended I pray at Eid on Maiduguri Street and I was happy to oblige. I wish him continued success, good health, and greater achievements ahead for both club and country. My short and unexpected remarks after the Mallam’s arraignment at the Kaduna State High Court yesterday. It was truly humbling to see thousands come out to wish Mallam all the best. We are very appreciative and it’s the least he deserves. As it was when he ran the Federal Capital Territory, history is already being kind to him Kaduna. I reiterated the collective belief of a lot of his remarkable administrative skills. Evident by the numerous development strides he and his team achieved from 2015 to 2023 We will proudly defend his honour in midst of this poorly coordinated persecution. Earlier today, I joined colleagues at the Special Plenary Session of the House of Representatives convened to address Nigeria’s worsening security challenges. In my contribution, I reaffirmed a position I have long held: Nigeria must embrace State Policing, not as a political slogan, but as an urgent, practical solution to the realities our communities face. Security cannot be effectively managed from Abuja alone. I also stressed the need to improve police welfare and end recruitment driven by allocation or favor. States should determine their manpower needs, and the process must be digitized, transparent, and merit-based. Beyond policing, I highlighted a painful but undeniable truth: many parts of the North face a deepening education crisis. With limited opportunities, young people become vulnerable to harmful online influences, including extremist propaganda - a growing and dangerous trend. I made it clear that leaders, myself included, must take responsibility. While efforts have been made, we have not done enough. Nigeria cannot overcome insecurity without investing in the fundamentals: education, employment, community development, and effective governance. Ultimately, every reform we advocate is for one purpose: to ensure that citizens can live in safety, raise their families in peace, and build meaningful lives without fear. In summary, the rule of law must prevail and the court sessions will not be discussed by my humble self or any member of the family in the media space as stated by the Judge. We are optimistic about Mallam’s innocence and we will continue to proudly stand by him. Our appreciation goes out to everyone that has contributed in our form or the other. May we as are leaders of the public in the executive, legislature and judiciary branches continue to be guided and compelled to do what is morally right, as well as abide by our solemn oath as we discharge our duties to the country. At plenary today, I gave my contributions on a lead debate about a bill that sought to amend the Constitution so each geo-political zone can have a President and Vice President after 8 years. While it sounded idealistic and nice, the realities seemed different. Each region has numerous ethnicities and tribes. I also leaned against it as it infringes on the rights of every eligible Nigerian to contest. What is more important than zoning is for we, political and appointed leaders, to dedicate our time and resources for our people to the best of our ability. The antidote to tribalism and mistrust is quality governance across board. The unwritten agreement of power rotating between the North and South is sacrosanct. Political parties and leaders must respect it, as was the case in the 1999 Presidential Elections when only Southern candidates emerged as Presidential candidates. It is a failure on the part of the political class and our political parties that we cannot do the same nowadays. I believe there is no need to have it stated in the constitution as the concept of Federal Character is there to serve as a reminder to some extent. We have more important issues like quality and affordable education, health care insurance to citizens, financial inclusion, tacking unemployment, decreasing our infrastructure deficit and increasing transparency in the public sector. The aspect of the bill was stepped down.

Yesterday, after Mallam Nasir El-Rufai’s bail hearing. I was in Unguwar Dosa on condolence visit to my elder brother, Hon. Shamsudeen El Abuja, the State Youth Leader of the APC in Kaduna State. I have known Hon. El Abuja since I was in secondary school, in Nigerian Turkish International School, Abuja. A jovial and generous politician, his kindness is known to those that know him. He sadly lost his dear father six days ago. May Allah SWT bless his gentle soul. May he grant his family the fortitude to bear such a loss. He will be remembered as a community leader, a father to many and a compassionate man. May Allah SWT bless his gentle soul. My humbled contribution to the 2025 Appropriation Bill. The bill was deliberated upon at great length in a day that turned out to be very long. In summary, there are certain budget line items that Ministries and MDA's should not be earmarking anymore. These include the new vehicles, furniture, stationeries and other equipments like computers and printers on an annual basis among others. These could last for years if managed well. As we continue to enact reforms that will shape Nigeria's sustainable development, it is imperative for public officials in the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government to keep in mind that these are dire times for our people. We should be at the front of line of making the necessary sacrifices, not the citizens. Thoroughly enjoyed the President's speech during the budget presentation. Kudos to the executive and all those that joined Mr. President in his visit to the National Assembly. Finally, I am grateful to the Speaker for the opportunity and my colleagues for the time. Happy Holidays in advance.

In the last plenary session, I had the honour of seconding a motion ably moved by a senior parliamentarian, a legislator that I deeply respect for his bravery, courage and honesty, Hon. Abdulsamad Dasuki. The motion was on the need to operationalise and complete National Automatic Development projects in Sokoto State. The motion resonated with me because the I believe the importance of a manufacturing base cannot be overstated. I genuinely believe a lot of our societal problems stems from a very high unemployment rate. I commend Hon. Earlier today, the Members of the House of Representatives debated the 2024 Renewed Hope Budget. The Appropriations Bill was presented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during a Joint Sitting of the National Assembly yesterday in session that I found very surreal.

This week in plenary, I had the pleasure of contributing to a critical amendment to the Banking & Other Financial Insitutions Act, (BOFIA). As Senior Legislative Aide & Chief of Staff to Senator Senator Uba Sani, the Governor of Kaduna, I had the disntict pleasure of working on the last amendment in the 9th Senate before it was assented to by President Muhammadu Buhari. This latest amendment was sponsored by my Egbon, Hon. Fayinka Moses Oluwatoyin who represents Mushin II Federal Constituency. The summary of the amendment is to make it easy and possible for victims of unauthorized withdrawal from their accounts to get their money back from the fraudsters through the full cooperation of commercial banks. The matter was referred to the Committee on Banking Regulations, which I humbly Chair and we will work on it diligently to ensure the rights of the Nigerian consumer are well protected. I genuinely believe steeper penalties will serve as a deterrent to this unfair situation. And we will strive to be fair to all stakeholders. But these multiple charges and unaccounted withdrawals must be brought to an end. A special mention to Hon. Oshin Oye who made the best contribution in my view. He sighted the need to take a page from other countries in line with international best practices. He stated a new UK-wide banking regulation comes into effect from the Payment Systems Regulator (PSR), which will change the way authorised push payment scams are dealt with. ‘‘These new mandatory rules are designed to make the process more consistent across the UK payment industry. There’s not much change to how we (Nigeria) already handle scam claims because we’ve been a signatory to the voluntary Contingent Reimbursement Model (CRM) Code since‌ M‌ay 2‌019. However, you may notice a difference if you have accounts with other banks. We want to make sure you’re up to speed with the changes, so here’s what you need to know. Firstly, what is an authorised push payment scam? Earlier today, we were invited to speak about our leader and father, late President Muhammadu Buhari during a valedictory session organised in his honour by our dear Speaker, Rt. Abbas Tajudeen. It was rather emotional to remember that he is actually gone. These were my remarks. We will continue to pray for God to grant him mercy and bless his soul. Once again, grateful to the Deputy Speaker for the opportunity. May God grant the Buhari family the fortitude to bear such a loss.
