🧵: The Philippine Coast Guard releases photos and video of floating barriers installed by the Chinese Coast Guard around Scarborough Shoal. This prevents Filipino fishermen from entering the resource-rich lagoon. CCG vessels also radio challenged Philippine vessels, against which the PH Bureau of Fisheries vessel responded and asserted they were “carrying out routine patrol within the territorial sea of Scarborough Shoal.”

The Philippine Coast Guard says Chinese coastguard vessels fired water cannon at one of its ships earlier today at the Scarborough Shoal, w/in the Philippines’ exclusive economic zone in the South China Sea - damaging its railing and canopy, evidence, the PCG says of the forceful pressure used by the CCG. The CCG also installed a 380-meter barrier around the entrance to the shoal. But she says authorities made her sign an affidavit stating otherwise. “Wala daw po ako sa pangyayari… Nagulat na lang ako patay na asawa ko.
