I was likely subconsciously influenced by this when writing the #xmen97 finale beat of Rogue punching Bastion. That’s not Superman hammering Zod. It’s Clark, a son furiously defending the woman who raised and protected him. The action is driven by emotion not plot. #manofsteel

Sorry, Scoersce, #thisiscinema. Everything, the aspirational shot design and music, the flight choreography, Clark going from sauntering with heavy burden to soaring and smiling, sell the hope and power of an outsider discovering he’s too big for his adopted home. Zack Snyder 👏

You know this modern #Carrie movie was surprisingly good and well-directed. But ugh do I hate when a small line tweak would’ve made a moment land more in subtext. Friend: “Don’t hurt me.” Carrie: “Why not? I’ve been hurt my whole life.” Ugh. Small tweak would make her less on the nose and woe-is-me, and land themes better. “Why not? It’s just kids being kids.” Writers. Subtext in dialogue often just needs a tweak to hide the on-the-nose cliche.

I can honestly say Gotham Knights is a truly underrated game. Once I learned to approach it as a RPG and not an Arkham game, and began exploring just how different the story becomes for each playable character, the game unlocked itself. #batman #GothamKnights
