Frank Thomas III—16-year-old son of Hall of Famer Frank Thomas—is a Baseball America top 100 player in the 2027 class. 6-2, 195 lbs, hit well throughout the summer and polished defensive actions around the bag at first base.

Will Brick, Baseball America’s No. 1 catcher in the 2026 class, has committed to Mississippi State. Brick recently reclassified from 2027 to 2026. Won a gold medal at the U-18 World Cup last month.

The best defensive shortstop in the country is Aiden Ruiz from New York. Four hits yesterday for the potential 2026 first-round MLB Draft pick and he had his usual acrobatic highlight play in the field (see the end of the clip) that he seems to make every game.

Trending toward being a first-round pick in July? One of the risers into the top 30 on Baseball America's MLB Draft rankings is Trevor Condon, who barreled this 96 mph fastball for a double. 2026 high school center fielder from Georgia and a Tennessee commit.

New 2028 rankings are out today at Baseball America and one of the big risers is outfielder Mikey Batiste in Canada. 6-4, 235-pound switch-hitter blasting balls up to 105 mph on these extra-base hits at 16 years old with a chance for top-of-the-scale power.

Chubb Jones Jr., Baseball America’s No. 7 player in the 2027 class, has flipped his commitment to Alabama. RHP/SS is 6-foot-4 with an electric fastball up to 97 mph, a swing-and-miss slider, high-end athleticism and plus speed.

MLB Draft news: Kaiden McCarthy, RHP from Vermont and Baseball America’s No. 15 player in the 2027 class, is reclassifying and will be eligible for the 2026 draft. More here on a big addition to this year’s draft class:

One of the big prospects from Cuba to watch for the 2026 international class is shortstop Joniel Hernandez (Padres). 16 years old, quick-twitch athlete, plus runner with a fast bat from the right side. Eligible to sign on January 15.

Top 100 projected bonus players for the 2026 international signing class with scouting reports on all 100 players is coming Monday at Baseball America. Includes Dominican outfielder Michael Mesa, one of the top hitters for the Toronto Blue Jays class for January 15.

One of the top international prospects for 2026 is 15-year-old Dominican shortstop Wandy Asigen. Shows his bat speed/power here hitting one over the batter's eye and drives in the game-tying run during a tournament in February.

Biggest riser in the 2027 class: SS Leo Nockley Top 10 player in today's new rankings (see below). Short, quick, balanced lefthanded swing with surprising pop for his size. Instinctive defender with easy actions, a quick release and a good internal clock.

Shortstop Isaiah Snavely, Baseball America's No. 19 player for 2027, has committed to Wake Forest. 6-3, 190 lbs, sound lefthanded swing, good blend of high-end offensive performance and tools.
