‘It is not enough for the world to be beautiful — one must also deign to rejoice in it.’ Grothendieck This artwork was created a few weeks before my son was born. It bears witness to the world as it was and as it will be when he needs to contemplate it.

A pure memory is not stored physically in the brain; it exists in a virtual, non-localized, immaterial space. It contains the entirety of our lived experience — not as frozen archives, but as states available for re-actualization at any moment, often triggered by a light, a gesture, a passing sensation. Vertigo of Latent Space Montage marked the decisive invention of cinema: a mode of associating images capable of producing new relations. Yet this potential has remained largely unexplored, as cinema has most often reproduced narrative forms inherited from the novel. With artificial imagination, another regime of images emerges. Images are no longer simply arranged; they transform into one another within a continuous space. It then becomes possible to work not with sequences, but with transitions, passages, thresholds. Vertigo is approached here as a latent structure, a field of forms in circulation. The film becomes a set of persistent forms that reactivate, deform, and recombine in contact with other images. What is at stake here is less a reinterpretation of the film than an attempt to approach thought in action: its movement, its bifurcations, its reminiscences. In The Flow, this research unfolds on another scale. It seeks to follow the flow of consciousness, not as narrative, but as a continuous dynamic in which films, memories, and history intermingle and circulate. This work around Vertigo constitutes a variation: a way of exploring how a film can dissolve into this flow and become one of the sites from which thought begins to move.

![I dream of a piece that would be nothing other than a trajectory: a path moving between points of light, like stars scattered across a space of memory. The lines connecting these luminous centers would draw a shifting constellation. The figure born from these tensions would become the work itself — not an isolated image, but the very trace of its appearance, the vibrating cartography of a flow. Shadows of The Shining Exploring the latent space of The Shining is to approach the film as one approaches a memory. Here, artificial intelligence acts as a second consciousness: it does not reproduce — it remembers. It reconstructs The Shining from its traces, its echoes, from what has survived the narrative. The latent space becomes a mental territory, an inner Overlook where the ghosts of the image, the logic of dreams, and the mechanisms of visual memory unfold once again. The aim is to turn the exploration of the latent space into a mnemonic experience of cinema itself.

Photography, film, artificial intelligence. What matters is their ability to bring forth a buried time, to make perceptible what persists in the ruins of the present. I am not trying to reconstruct the past. I am rather trying to experience what remains of it, what returns through fragments, through montage, through reminiscences. Memory is never intact. It only says that an image, somewhere in my body, continues to live. 👇 The Flow project

This street in Tokyo is a memory. What remains are images or sounds, sometimes even an almost troubling precision of detail. But the sensation itself remains elusive. It is this impossibility that interests me: not to reconstruct the past as it was, but to approach the forms it continues to produce within us. The Flow project seeks to give form to this constant back-and-forth between the immediate data of consciousness and these layers of memory.

Studies of Artificial Landscapes Part of a research project on new forms created by artificial imagination. Just as plein-air painters like Eugène Boudin were captivated by the shape and color that a landscape might take at certain times of day, the aim here is to capture the geography of latent space. Sketching thus appears to be the technique best suited to capturing the infinitely sensitive fluctuations of this new imaginary space.

Why do I use AI as an artist? Because the latent space of Artificial Imagination is the area of all possible images. In it are contained all the images of the world, past and future. In it, there are images of the resistance fighters of the Paris Commune happy because they were victorious. In it, there are paintings by Van Gogh made after he was 37 years old. In it, Nazi Germany lost the war in 1940. Ultimately, within it reside images of wishes, utopias, which we can bring to life thanks to this exploration of the latent space offered to us. If we do not do this, we will remain imprisoned in the homogeneous and empty hell of the repetition of the same already proposed by the infernal universe of consumerism. This is why we must respond to the new technical virtualities offered by AI. We must seize it by inventing new forms. That's what I'm working on.
