Protesters gather outside the ICE building driveway in Portland and ICE agents start shooting pepper balls at us from the roof. (Nobody was inside the blue line indicating the boundary of federal property.) This happened while a right-wing streamer (I think) was asking while I was here and I said I was here to document acts of instigating by ICE agents, while they were shooting pepper balls at us.

So it’s worth pointing out for the record that it looks like the whole thing started because of the DHS agents instigating things for no reason. Agents leave the building. As is the usual practice, protesters talk at them while walking backwards. At 0:14 a protester is clearly still walking backwards when the agent lunges forward and shoves them to the ground. After their friends help them back up and other protesters keep talking to the agents, at 0:40 an agent moves his shield to the side and grabs a protester (who doesn’t appear to do anything threatening) and shoves them down. Several other protesters get knocked down and some get tackled by DHS. And then at 0:57 the frog tries to help someone up who got pushed to the ground, and that’s when the DHS agents sprays their air intake hole.

Spoke at City Council again today. The City Attorney of Seattle put out a press release in February accusing a liberal judge of being incompetent, saying the judge dismissed a case where a defendant refused to get on a van to go to a treatment center. I filed a Public Disclosure Request to get a recording of the actual court hearing. It turns out the defendant was in a wheelchair, and they had made arrangements to get on the transport van but they weren't allowed to because of the wheelchair and their upcoming surgery appointments. (And later a judge ruled in the case that this was a valid reason.) Where the mic cuts out at the end (because I went over 2 minutes), I'm saying "This should probably be a bigger scandal."
