Ben Shelton getting a relatively training session in tonight right after making relatively light work of Tsitsipas.

As Andreeva celebrated her win, a pair of fans inside Chatrier whipped out and waved a Russian flag to celebrate Andreeva’s country. A #RolandGarros security guard quickly swooped in and had them put it away in the guy’s purse.

Y’all it is so late here that the late shift cleaners have already started mopping inside Ashe as this fifth set is underway. The U.S. Open is…something.

A pretty darn solid first pitch at the Reds game tonight by Daniil Medvedev, who has become a bona fide Reds fan, improbably. (Also, good work by the various video folks covering this moment to blur out the unwanted logo on that jersey…)

Morgan Riddle on Instagram this afternoon as her boyfriend Taylor Fritz beats Alexander Zverev. #Wimbledon

New: Novak Djokovic confirmed in his press conference just now that he boycotted his #AusOpen post-match interview tonight because of the host broadcaster, Channel 9, and its lack of apology for its anchor Tony Jones mocking Djokovic's fans recently on-air.

Genuinely wondering if Alex Eala is already the most popular player in women’s tennis right now? Thousands of Filipino fans who couldn’t get into Court 6 are watching her match on screens around the Australian Open grounds.

Trump draws some boos, and a few claps, when shown saluting during the anthem. (No one else was saluting the anthem). Stadium still half empty due to long security lines. #USOpen

Seriously impressive escape by Learner.

Pro tip for #Wimbledon: Forget the cream, for sure. And if you don’t want them plain, go for heat and salt instead.

Roger Federer will be the commencement speaker at the Ivy League’s Dartmouth College on Sunday, June 9th. (His agent’s daughter, Isabella Godsick, is a lacrosse player in the graduating class).

Serena. Now.

Horns honking all over Berlin to celebrate beating…Curaçao.

A remarkable moment on Sunday’s world feed broadcast of the U.S. Open final:

This really is like nothing we’ve seen before in tennis, it’s so dang cool.

Interesting end to Ben Shelton’s press conference. Unprompted, he took a moment to tear into the quality of local broadcasting and specifically on-court interviewing at #AusOpen.

Such a delight when Mary Carillo crashes a press conference as only she can.

I have never seen such casual, committed scammery in tennis like this before.

Ooh, #USOpen just showed Trump on screen again during this set break and there was loud, clear booing this time.

Remember when my Bounces report about Serena Williams returning to tennis came out in December and Serena tweeted out a denial hours later? Well, Serena did a whole lot less denying today on The Today Show…

Corentin Moutet, ungovernable.

Tense moment at WTA 1000 Montreal tonight between Sakkari and Collins. I agree with Collins here--the officials need to be way stricter on players recklessly smacking the ball and throwing racquets into the stands. Should be no looking the other way when that happens.

“Female athletes” are not a monolith on this topic—not even close. Martina Navratilova is very loud but she doesn’t speak for everyone. Here’s Rennae Stubbs, for example, this week on her show. “I’m very on the opposite side of Martina…I don’t see it as a problem.”

Kalshi is such a ceaselessly trashy sponsor. Not only is it mucking up the tournament with gambling, but it is also making video content that only serves to ridicule ticketholders. U.S. Open really needs to rethink this craptastic partnership before 2027.

Naomi Osaka completes her year of floral looks with what is surely one of the most elaborate hairstyles ever worn onto court at the U.S. Open. (Her subsequent hairstyle for the match is much more streamlined.)

Genuinely wondering if Alex Eala is already the most popular player in women’s tennis right now? Thousands of Filipino fans who couldn’t get into Court 6 are watching her match on screens around the Australian Open grounds.

Trump has walked out to his seat in the Rolex suite, some scattered booing, some applause, but not really focused attention on him amid the loud music and still half-empty stadium. #USOpen

Was on BBC News last night sharing my thoughts about today's fast-approaching "Battle of the Sexes" farce, which I think is a long-term lose-lose for tennis in all ways.

Love this from Djokovic today. Own that you know you’re better than everybody when you clearly are. Dishonest not to. #Wimbledon

This made it from Bounces into Eurovision media circles already but I haven't seen many tennis people mention it yet, so ICYMI: When we spoke pre-Wimbledon, Grigor Dimitrov expressed great eagerness for a Eurovision hosting role, since Bulgaria will host next year's contest.

Easily the most booing I’ve ever heard at #Eurovision but no major disruptions of Israel at the first show with a crowd.

Alex de Minaur made his best plea for a US Open mixed wildcard for himself and longtime girlfriend Katie Boulter in the latest Bounces notebook. “Some of the other partnerships, they haven't really said a word to each other in their lives, right?”
