This is Shaykh Prof. Bashir Aliyu Umar greeting the Emir of Kano. What you will notice: He adjusted his babban riga out of respect for the Emir, He hastened to greet the Emir, He didn't initiate the handshake, The Emir stretched forth his hand first. You cannot respect the rulers more than the scholars who understand their status more than you do. BTW, the Emir of Kano is the 4th in the hierarchy of traditional rulers in Northern Nigeria after the Sultan of Sokoto, Shehin Borno and Emir of Gwandu. The Emir of Ilorin is the 9th or 10th depending on how Etsu Nupe is ranked.

This happened to a friend yesterday at a petrol station in Lokoja, Nigeria. He pulled up with a little below half tank for a top up. They sold 63 litres to him and his car still wasn't full. His tank capacity is 65 litres BTW I remember Alapo recounting similar experience. Are petrol station attendants the most dishonest Nigerians now?

This footage shows Dr. Sharafuddeen Gbadebo Rāji making a recap of his lecture to his Hausa audience present at the lecture. The lecture was delivered in Yoruba so he decided to summarize the lecture in Hausa. Fun fact: He grew up in Jos and was an Imām for the Hausa and Yoruba communities. The Hausas loved him so much they started laying claim to him as one of theirs. He speaks Hausa impeccably that no one would mistake him for a Yoruba man but the 'Gbadebo' in his name is there for a reason. Meet Ahmad Sālim Abeed. He memorized the entire Qurān from listening to it. Never attended a tahfeez or learnt from a teacher. He knows all the sequences and numbers associated with the Qurān. The number of pages, verses, chapters, the arrangement of mutashābihāt and sajdāt etc. And likewise, he is good with current affairs. May Allah bless him.
