We are devastated to share the heartbreaking news that Bert, our beloved source of inspiration and the heart of everything we’ve built, has passed away. Bert wasn’t just a dog, he was a symbol of joy, resilience, and love. To his owner Kathy Grayson, our team, and the incredible community behind this project, Bert was so much more than we could ever put into words. We had big dreams with Bert. He wasn’t just the face of $BERT, he was its soul. Losing him is a pain that’s hard to express, but even in our heartbreak, we find strength. This is not the end of Bert’s story, it’s the beginning of something even greater. His passing has ignited a fire in all of us to ensure his name and his mission live on forever. In Bert’s honor, we are creating The BERT Foundation, starting with a $100,000 grant to help dogs in need around the world. But we’re not stopping there. We’re also commissioning a statue of Bert, a permanent tribute to his legacy and the movement he inspired. We’re also sharing something deeply personal: a raw, uncut video of Bert filmed by Kathy just one day before he passed. It’s real, heartfelt, and unfiltered, just as this project has always been. Bert deserves to be remembered exactly as he was, and we’re honored to share this moment with the world. Bert now joins a legacy of incredible animals who have shaped the crypto world like $PNUT, the beloved squirrel, and Kabosu, the iconic Shiba Inu behind $DOGE. These animals remind us that behind every meme is a heart, a story, and a mission. Bert will forever stand among them as a symbol of hope and the power of community. Bert united us. He gave us purpose. And now, it’s our turn to carry that forward to ensure every dog in the world feels the love and care that Bert inspired in us all. Every single one of us is Bert.
