Here’s a time-lapse of the last 30 days of construction on the Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing. Amazing! Soil level is rising fast and the secondary structure is nearing completion. We have had a camera capturing it all since groundbreaking and will have a time-lapse for all of construction when it’s completed! Very cool.

While wandering in Yosemite’s high country last week, searching for butterflies and pika, I stumbled upon this lovely scene-a mother white-tailed Ptarmigan and her chicks. Ptarmigans were introduced to the Sierra Nevada, and their presence can be problematic to the native wildlife, and to this fragile alpine ecosystem. But this was still stunning to witness—a mother with her children out for a walk on a fine summer day.
