I never expected my mom to cry when she finally met Ash. She has Alzheimer’s and is also a stroke survivor, so she doesn’t remember Ashtine’s name anymore, but she knows who she is. She kept telling me, “I know her.” When my dad asked if all the effort was worth it, she immediately said, “Yes, sulit na sulit.” She may not remember this moment later on, but I know the happiness she felt will stay with her. She was smiling the whole ride home. THANK YOU ASHTINE
