Watching these two videos from the Shay Concert, the reality is disturbing. In the first clip, the man in black positioned himself behind her and she even turned to see who was doing that to her, yet she couldn’t speak up. Then the man in green whispered into his ear and took over in the second clip. From both videos, it is clear she was being harassed in a way she did not welcome. Her body language showed discomfort, but she could not voice out, and that silence is the problem. I am typing this with so much rage because this is not entertainment, it is violation. We need to start teaching our girl child to SPEAK UP. This is not just about one lady at a concert. There are preys all over, and tomorrow it could be your daughter, your sister, or your family member. If we don’t act now, we normalize silence in the face of harassment and abuse. That is why we must reintroduce LIFE SKILLS education in schools, just like it was in the 2000s. Our children need to be taught confidence, assertiveness, and how to protect their boundaries. This is wrong!!! What’s happening in Ghana now? Rape is an assault!!
