This happened in July 2025 amid sectarian clashes in the Druze heartland. Post Assad Syria is still drowning in revenge killings, sectarian score settling, and summary executions. Minorities like the Druze are paying the price. Videos like this show exactly why handing security responsibilities to these actors is dangerous. It risks another wave of atrocities, not stability. We saw what happened on October 7. Sending Syrian forces would simply be creating another October 7 in Lebanon. Is this what Trump meant by the Syrians would do a better job? One thing is certain.
