"I was r@ped, r@ped till I was senseless" - #Meitei #VictimSurvivor of May 3, 2023. Tamal Saha On May 3, she was allegedly gang-raped by multiple men while she was fleeing from her village in Churachandpur. She is a mother of 3 and after violence broke out, she, along with her children, had no other choice but to run for their lives. Her house was set ablaze. She recalled how she fell down after a point and hurt herself, her children were taken away by her family members for safety while she was left lying on the ground. She alleged it was then when men pinned her down and raped her in turns over and over again till she lost her senses. She didn't open up fearing social stigma and in the month of July, she had to visit a hospital after developing Sexu@lly Transmitted Diseases. It was then that the story came out. A police complaint has been lodged, CBI has taken over her case as well. "I will fight for justice till the perpetrators are punished," the woman thundered and then broke down while speaking with Tamal Saha. She is now at a safe home near Imphal, her youngest son stays along with her.
