i wanted to tell you how we made the visuals for nerve-bloom i did it with Natalia Kleszczewska and Natalie Liu . Natalia Kleszczewska is a painter , she painted the creatures and the backgrounds . Natalie Liu is a computer graphics director , she shaped the digital dimension of the work . my role in it was a creative director , bringing in the singer-songwriter tradition , where emotionally precise things happen inside the structure of a song . i guided colour pallettes , textures and the environments the music happens in . to make this possible , during the process , natalia often had to paint many shapes and sizes , different textures and layers of colours . natalie then developed the visuals, designing and overseeing CGI elements , and finding ways for the digital to sit organically alongside Natalia’s world . and include my dramaturgy and creative direction. we spent 7 months talking and working together , dedicated to relish in the craft of blending hand-made visuals with digital experimentation , 3D design and commit it to physical display technology . a lot of time was spent on researching different tools and techniques to find what worked best at each stage in the song . like i’ve done before , i wanted to merge old things with tech , giving it soul & a meaning . to paint a painting is an analog craft but computer programming is craftmanship too !! and both can co-exist , .....encouraging each other to bloom even further towards a mutual world . there is a tradition in pop music for the mucisian to choose a video director . in the art world , this is called “curation” , but where we came from , it was natural that the musician would have strong opinions on what your song needed , which mood , colours , textures & storyline . today this is called “creative director” and it is something we didn’t credit ourselves with in the 90s , but i am starting to understand this better now . i don´t think of me as a visual artist . because my heart is music . everything i do comes from a sonic point of view . this is something i have called “sonic symbolism” , sound made visual , a reverse synesthesia . when you listen to a song for the first time , it is like swallowing a whale , you need to feel the whole musical sculpture in one go . the structure of a song has always been extremely important to me : what shape it is . this is part of the craft of being a singer-songwriter ........... we are tune sculpturors ....... since i am talking about the visuals for nerve bloom it is impossible to not mention the avatars in my music videos . they have replaced the storyteller with anattempt to connect to the more universal element of music , through animation, avatars , puppetry both digital and analog . for me they are marionettes in a puppet-theatre , hopefully in a similar realm as the jungian archetypes ( which we all can act out the characteristics of ...) .... i feel nerve-bloom is a natural continuation .... an animated avatar archetype singing you a song ––––– Avatars, animation and archetypes: Nerve Bloom (remix) – on display at Listasafn Íslands / National Gallery of Iceland until September 20th 2026. The production of this film was made possible with the generous support of #bottegaveneta.

i am so extremely thrilled that olof dreijer was up for remixing my song ... i have been dj-ing his songs and remixes last couple of years nonstop so incredible to find mine and rosalía voices in that exact same environment ! the honour is all mine warmthness , björk oral remix by Olof Dreijer is out now artwork by James Merry PROTECT EARTH AND ITS CREATURES - OR PERISH WITH THEM Thank you all for your generous support of the AEGIS AegisWatch campaign against intensive fish farming in Iceland. Your generous donations have not only propelled our initiatives in Iceland but have also helped draw attention to similar campaigns globally, with similar resistance movements happening in the UK, Norway, South America, and beyond. While we've made significant strides, there's still much to be done. For those eager to contribute further, please consider donating to our registered charity via this link Your support fuels our mission for a healthier planet and better animal welfare. Thank you – Björk and the AEGIS team

Thank you Centre Pompidou Centre Pompidou, everyone who made Nature Manifesto happen, and all the people that took it in. We were happy to see the conversations that the use of AI in Nature Manifesto sparked !! Below is a message from Björk: ~~~ “ the flood of all things from AI is overwhelming !! i am super grateful for your concerns about it´s effects on the environment , it shows you care , are curious and have integrity . i am curious too , i would like to be more informed about the difference of "frugal" AI and the ones that do hugeenvironmental damage and want to be able to choose . i asked around and found out that both the visuals and the audio in our pompidou project were done with "frugal" AI . but i have a lot to learn . when we used some of the AI softwares to merge the animals voices to mine , some of the sounds were great but to be honest , the best blends of their voices and a human were done "manually" , me editing the sounds , choosing piece by piece , looking for personality , musicality and soul . with new technology , i try to use it as a tool to grow , not a crutch . for example when i used melodyne , i used it not for lazy voice progressions but spent even more time when using it . every note in every chord became intentionally more complex . ( for example choir in "thunderbolt" ) and hopefully stretched the potential more out , further than i would have in "normal analog" physical improvisations ... i felt with this new tool i could reach new places in my musical DNA , become MORE personal . more myself . in my opinion , this is how we will work in the future . humans can read emotions on an incredibly high scale . nature made us that way . if there is no soul in tomorrow's music made by AI it is because no-one put it there and we have to speak out and guard this as listeners . ( tbh there is a lot of soulless muzak on spotify already ... they don’t need any AI help for that ...) anything that is mass manufactured without the attention of creativity , is that way . AI or not so it is not about the tool it is what you do with it . " ~~~ The visuals for Nature Manifesto were crafted by the talented Sam Balfus, artificial intelligence being one of the multiple tools used in the process. The sound was produced in collaboration with artist Robin Meier and IRCAM IRCAM. Nature Manifesto, pt. 1 it is an emergency the apocalypse has already happened and how we will act now is essential in pioneering sound-strata with mutant peacocks, bees, and lemurs biology will reassemble in new ways and micro-organisms will mate with other life-forms to heal and adapt in fruiting bodies and fields of sensory information the web of life will unfold into a world of new solutions We would like to share our “Nature Manifesto,” a sound installation at the Centre Pompidou Centre Pompidou, Paris. Produced in collaboration with IRCAM IRCAM using AI software, this immersive sound piece gives endangered and extinct animals a voice by merging their sounds with our words. We wanted to share their presence in an architecture representing the industrial age, far away from nature. In the veins of the escalator of the museum, known as the “caterpillar,” we wanted to remind citizens of the raw vitality of endangered creatures. Even though you are restlessly traveling between floors whilst listening to this soundpiece, the tone of animals’ voices hopefully builds a sonic bridge towards the listeners. And in the spirit of these animals, in the magic of how they are sensually aligned with their environment, they become our teachers! Their ghosts remind us of improving our primordial mindfulness. But we didn’t only want to talk the talk but walk the walk, so together with young environmentalists in France and Iceland, we have set up a campaign. It will launch later. Thank you, Björk and Aleph Immersive sound piece 3’40” (2024) 20 November to 9 December, 2024, Centre Pompidou, Paris. CORNUCOPIA on Apple Music Apple Music and AppleTV+ Apple TV !! This Friday, 24th of January at 7pm PT. #AppleMusicLive i am so thrilled to share an hour excerpt of the Cornucopia concert film here with you online . the full version will be played later in theatres . this has been a long journey with hundreds of people helping out . i am so beyond enormously grateful to every single one of them . i feel the modern concert film is a matriarchially friendly construct , welcomed in the current climate . where female musicians can share their worlds uncorrupted . in cornucopia , i was joined by musical director and multi instrumentalist bergur þórisson , percussionist manu delago , flute septet Viibra , harpist katie buckley and the hamrahlid choir . i spent last decade working with 360-degree sound and visual software in virtual reality and animation, creating Biophilia and later Vulnicura as a VR album. i was deeply inspired by the idea of a fully-immersive experience spreading Utopia and Fossora into fully surround speakers. my intention was to bring what we had created for 21st-century VR into a 19th-century theatre - taking it from the headset to the stage. this vision was realised with 27 moving curtains that captured projections on different textures and LED screens, creating a digitally animated show : a "modern lanterna magica" for live music. i also wanted to feature bespoke instruments: a magnetic harp, an aluphone, a circular flute, and a reverb chamber, specially built with an audio architect to enhance the most intimate version of a performance—in a personal chapel. throughout this tale, there is a subplot woven in: a second story of an avatar—a modern marionette who alchemically mutates, from puppet to puppet, from the injury of a heart wound to a fully healed state. i hope you enjoy it. warmthness, björk

You're probably wondering why French people you don’t know are appearing on Björk's social media? Rest assured, we haven't hacked into her account. We're here because Björk felt that our revelations were important for the whole world: we're here to alert you about an ecological tragedy that is taking place in France because of our President Emmanuel Macron and that concerns the future and very livability of our planet. This concerns you too and anyone who watches this video. To put it bluntly: the fate of biodiversity treasures, of millions of marine animals and of the global climate are at stake. No more, no less. This scandal is unfolding in the midst of general indifference. Watch this outrageous story right to the end, and share it with everyone you know: it is URGENT that we take action. France has the second largest maritime space in the world right after the USA. What does this mean in practical terms? It means that your action can be DECISIVE for the future of the oceans and marine animals. If there is enough international pressure, we can obtain protection instead of destruction. That would be INCREDIBLE. You can always watch the video and decide to do nothing, but if you are outraged by this injustice and want a more beautiful world that protects the ocean and marine animals, then act now! We count on you ALL ♥️ To STOP the massacre of marine animals. To STOP the destruction of the oceans To STOP the French President's ‘French touch’ HOW CAN YOU TAKE ACTION? 1 / By tagging President Macron to truly protect the ocean Emmanuel Macron 2 / By signing our international petition: 3 / By donating to a legal case in France to stop this: Thank you ! with activists: Arthur Caulliez, Anaïs Clermont, Camille Etienne, Claire Nouvian, Sigrún Perla Gísladóttir, Sæunn Júlía Sigurjónsdóttir, Titouan Pilliard of Sustainable Ocean Alliance (SOA) BLOOM Association and Ungir umhverfissinnar.
