i like the idea of running a barbell strategy in crypto, keeping most of your capital in high-conviction assets while allocating a smaller portion to higher-risk opportunities a 70/30 split is a reasonable framework for how i think about it the speculative side gives you room to trade memes, perps and emerging onchain trends without putting your entire portfolio at risk the goal is to compound gains from those opportunities into longer-term positions while keeping your overall exposure manageable

NFTs are an area of crypto that i think deserves another look the 2021 boom and subsequent crash left a lot of people with a negative view of them, but the underlying concept still makes sense to me as more businesses move onchain, NFTs could become a useful way to represent ownership, experiment with revenue sharing and build communities around products i expect there's still a lot of room for experimentation beyond the NFT models we saw last cycle

i don't see anything wrong with constantly rotating between memecoins if you understand the game you're playing memecoin trading is much closer to trading viral trends on tik tok than investing in traditional businesses attention moves quickly, and some of the best traders have built their entire edge around recognizing those shifts before everyone else

i expect capital to become much more concentrated in a smaller group of crypto assets as the industry matures in previous cycles, you could buy almost any alt and benefit from the broader market moving up now we're seeing a clearer distinction between projects with actual product-market fit and those relying mostly on speculation i think understanding which businesses are generating real revenue, attracting users and executing consistently will matter a lot more than simply betting on the entire altcoin market

attention is one of the most underrated leading indicators in markets i look at social trends in stocks the same way i look at them in memecoins when a company starts gaining traction with consumers, that shift often happens long before the revenue shows up in earnings reports i believe there's a real edge in recognizing those changes early and understanding how they could translate into business growth

i'm approaching altcoins differently this cycle than i did in previous ones we've seen assets like HYPE and ZEC perform independently of BTC and ETH, even during periods when the broader market was struggling i think crypto is gradually moving toward a market where individual fundamentals, capital inflows and actual business performance matter more that makes identifying mispriced assets and understanding which teams are building increasingly important, rather than relying entirely on the direction of the majors

distribution could end up being one of the biggest competitive advantages in AI as models get cheaper and open-source alternatives improve, i expect customer retention and distribution to matter a lot more OpenAI has already built massive consumer adoption, which creates opportunities to monetize beyond subscriptions through things like advertising the economics of AI labs are still evolving, but i think the value of owning the customer relationship is being underestimated

i've always viewed social awareness as one of the biggest edges in memecoin trading being early to viral trends matters, but understanding who's behind the attention and how committed the community is can be just as important i pay close attention to holder distribution, community activity and the social capital of people associated with a coin those factors can help explain why certain memes sustain attention while thousands of others fade away

i'm leaning toward a more aggressive bull market than most people are expecting a lot of crypto natives were waiting for the usual four-year cycle to play out, but the market may be getting driven by a different group of buyers this time traditional finance is starting to treat BTC as a long-term portfolio allocation, while profitable crypto businesses are attracting attention beyond the usual crypto crowd if institutional capital keeps flowing into both BTC and onchain businesses, i think there's room for this cycle to surprise people on the upside

i expect social trading to get a lot bigger as it expands into liquid markets like stocks and perps we've already seen how much attention public P&Ls can attract in memecoins, but larger markets make it easier for successful traders to scale their positions and share trades without the same liquidity constraints once people start seeing massive P&Ls on stocks like Apple or Amazon, i think the appeal of following and copying skilled traders becomes much broader there's a lot more room for social trading to grow beyond memecoins

i spent a lot of 2020 and 2021 glued to the charts, constantly feeling like i was going to miss something if i logged off over time, i've learned that trading 24/7 can become a trap, even when you're making money there are periods where being extremely active makes sense, and others where stepping away is the better decision having a life outside of trading is important bc knowing when to switch off is just as valuable as knowing when to trade

i keep sharing my trades and thoughts on ct because i know how much it helped me when i was starting out back in 2017, there were traders who had already made it but still chose to share their knowledge and help others learn i benefited a lot from those people, and i want to do the same for the next generation of traders the criticism comes with being public, but i've never felt that was a good enough reason to stop sharing what i've learned

i've learned over the years that people care more about consistency and transparency than having a perfect track record i'm putting my own money behind the trades i share, so when something goes wrong, i'm taking the loss too i'd rather own my mistakes publicly than pretend they never happened that's how i build trust over time

i pay more attention to how a memecoin community behaves during a 70-80% drawdown than when the price is going up the strongest communities tend to stay active, keep creating content and bring in new people even when momentum disappears attention drives memecoins, but i believe the ability to sustain that attention through difficult periods is one of the most important things to look for

one of the biggest lessons i've learned trading crypto is that catching the right rotation means very little if you give all the gains back in 2017, i made significant profits trading alts but round-tripped a lot of them by 2020-21, i'd gotten much better at identifying narratives early, rotating between SOL, LUNA and AVAX, and compounding gains across different trades i believe finding opportunities early and knowing when to take profits are equally important skills

i expect personal reputation and trust to become some of the most valuable assets in the AI era as AI-generated content becomes everywhere, people will place a higher premium on individuals they've followed and trusted for years social capital is only going to become more valuable
